my friends wanted to book one too, SE just informed that price will go up by 3-5k after tomorrow..

I notice even korean cars now comes with many gadgets, but overall people still prefer jap cars. Lol, need to look at the real thing of the new K3 then can see whether K3 or elantra better?!

Think till we can see many Korean cars lasting beyond 10yrs and the resale value goes up will we see some preference for Korean cars over Japs. But I think the Koreans will become a favourite in much shorter time than the Japs if the Japs continue their current path of conservative designs.

booked a k3, looking forward to its arrival! the specs seem good, but just worried that cant find outside workshop who can service it since its so new. same engine n drivetrain as elantra though, maybe that'll help?

The car comes with five years warranty it wun be wise to consider outside servicing n void that...

hahaha...but if orders are good..there is more chance that prices will go up soon

Too be fair, I believe once they hit a certain no. of sales eg. 50/75 orders or so, they may raise the price.

Reason is those who book with higher price will obviously have a higher COE bid. They have to do this otherwise if the COE didn't come down as they had expected, the first batch of orders would not be successful and that would mean no cars are registered. This is especially true for new car launches as they are keen

to put their cars on the road for visibility.

 

I'm assuming they bid the same for all those who booked at $90k but then again if don't get means all don't get?? It would be strange if they put in different bids as how to answer if some got and some didn't??

Even jap make continue their conservative designs, people still dont mind buying one la. I guess many people still have some doubts towards korean cars. I believe those who buy korean cars normally are those people who always change car within the 4-5 years mark, that's why they dont mind buying. I think there is not many ppl in SG drive their car for full 10 years. I know some people do, my uncle does too; but I know more ppl around me don't... Maybe I suay I only know people richer than me. They are looking at Volvo Audi now when I just looking at Kia :p Having said that, I also think I may change car after 5 years if I bought a new one...

Singaporeans are rich mah. Change car on average at the 5th year.

 

But you see those Korean dramas. Still got many Sonata EF and old Korean cars running on the roads lor (more than 10yrs model).

 

So don't bet on the Korean's lacking reliability just yet.

Just place my order recently, the SE while filling forms straight put AIG for car insurance. The quote is around $2k (I get a quote of around 1.4K when check aviva online). When I asked about Aviva, SE brushed off saying new car don't take Aviva.

 

Can brothers here share your view? I drive to JB sometimes, what I concern most is car get stolen...

Better to stay with the recommended insurer for 1st year to enjoy the discount and coverage... Thu can consider change on 2nd year onward ...

the factors are all linked in a way...number not as high before due to low quota supply...and of cos if supply is high then coe will be low and so more scrappage by the 5th year...lol

Unless you plan to stay completely stock, stay away from Aviva. :)
