Sometimes this happens because of parallel imports in large quantities. Often times dealers (local and overseas) and distributors have 'quota' to meet. In the event that they cannot sell enough, they release the goods to willing buyers (usually overseas) in bulk. In order to achieve this, they sell mostly to break even, so it's substantially cheaper.

 

Then the local buyer/parallel importer sells these in bulk to Giant and/or other supermarkets at a cheap price, so that they would move, making a small profit.

Addictive is the diff between diff OL, like petrol too.

Oil filter also important, if all change on time and use original filter they should last till 10yr. Problem is over due and over heat, it will damage other parts like pump, gasket and hose.
