i thought non inverter type is no more on sale.

 

for low usage, non inverter would be more ideal as the saving can be justified.

Can still get - but not many left now. 

 

Non inverter is best if always running at full power or if seldom used. 

We are still using our original compressor from 12 years ago for our hall aircon - we only use it about once a month

one thing is quite for sure that non inverter type would last longer than a inverter type.

 

i was told that often the pcb is the main culprit and is certainly not cheap.

Our inverter is due for chemical cleaning I think - is getting kinda rattly and not as cold as it used to be...

quite substantial i would say. At least 30 % if you ask me....

if every day use a lot, energy savings from inverter can be seen.

 

am light user, maybe 6 hours every night, so went for non-inverter.

 

did not feel I would benefit from paying more for the inverter.

I think so ... some years back there was some issue when people bought inverter and did not see reduction in electricity bills, then one of the aircon companies came out and said benefits only apparent after x hours (cannot remember the magic number).

 

for me, not more than 6 hours usage and setting of 25 degrees, think I save the money for something else. when I was looking around that time, cost difference was like $800 - $1k. gap may have narrowed down now ... not sure ...

 

for me, non-inverter is my choice.

Doing conceal piping is really toopid ... wan to replace also headache.

If you dont mind the looks, redo new piping, no need to remove the old ones, conceal very hard to redo
