Normally does tyre shop take in new car tyres straight out of showroom at better price?

Yes. Did that with my friend's Lancer. Collected car and went straight to Soh Bros. Of course b4 hand already ordered what we wanted and nego on the trade-in price.

Forgot the trade-in price but definitely better than a slightly used one.

I see, maybe I will go Soh Bros and check it out, will be without rims. Do they carry Michelin tyres?

Yep. But dunno what other models other than the PS3 and XM2. Better call him to check first.

In fact, should call a few other shops to compare prices.

IMO if the OEM tyres ok just retain them. Quite wasted unless no choice because you are upgrading your rims.

Twincharged

OEM rims are the best.

Depends on what car model, some brands also used local fitted brand, like Nissan B&B models..of course higher end model are factory fitted.

Yes, new tyres fetch better price but it is definitely way below what they are selling for the

same make and model. Though yr tyre is very new, they willing to pay ard 30% of actual price.

They will then sell it for 80 to 90%. Some shops doesn't want to take in used tyre.

If you are trading in.... some shops give higher trade-in price but they mark up on the new

rims/tyre. On the other hand, some quote lower but the new rims are cheaper. You hv to do

yr own math.

Im not too sure of others but I prefer to sell it online myself... very bad experience with shop offering ridiculars price. When I got my Vios, I wanted to sell my tyre + rim off and after calling a few shops, the best offer was $150 for all the 4 rims and tyre (trade in, got to buy tyre frm them).... if selling only, they will take in at $100...

For god sake, the tyre was less than 30km, driving from West coast HW to Yishun and I got to replaced immediately when I reach home. I post in the Vios club, selling for $200 and there are plenty of seller who is interested to C&C immediately.... I got the tyre sold in less than 3 hrs after posting online..

OEM using re080, prefer something of less rolling resistance and quieter. Also going to upsize the profile.

OEM rims are the best.

i strongly agree to that statement...

alot of aftermarket rims are replicate rims that are of inferior material....
