Now what i am trying to say that these cyclist put their lives and others lives in danger when they can simply cycle on a proper track and be safe enough to go back to their loved ones. Cycling on pavement hit children and old grannies at 30km/hr, bro, if you are really going to travel that fast why dont go to a proper cycling track so u wont endanger anyone life at all... thats no excuse at all to not cycle at pavement :) Correct me if I am wrong but, Nicoll Highway speed limit is 70km/hr and not 80. Secondly, in driving school, I believe you are taught to keep 1 - 1.5m away from stationary objects, so if they are on the move, should be the same. Dirtbike i understand your point but this is actually to the benefit of both cyclist and driver. Both actually will benefit from safety. Erm 70-80 la i forget also le, usually there i do around 74-76 on my digital speedo. much more cars doing excess of 90s there also. School thing u can only remember half, mostly is not practical on normal situation, example, park with kerb or poles. lol carpark only have park with cars, totally not related, 1.5m on normal road is possible but expressway erm quite dangerous wor

Ghostami 2nd Gear July 20, 2012 Share July 20, 2012 1.5m from your next car is easy unless you are driving some container on the expressway, expressway lanes are quite spaced out, just that most jokers like to keep either too left or right of their lane. If you wanna ask this question, I believe you should direct to LTA or whatever department involve. Cause in the 1st place the bicycles cannot be cycled on the pavement cause dangerous to the people walking there. So if cycle on the road is dangerous, should the cars be removed? Its more of being considerate and graceful towards each other, slowing down will only cause you like maybe max a min or even 5mins later.

Mm....the cyclist are also riding with LTA rules and regulations in the slowest lane ma...so why are they consider inconsiderate? The only reason why they become inconsiderate is because drivers arent willing to look out and give way to them, and also respect them that they do also have a right to be on the road.... Tailgaters or Road hoggers? Sounds familiar? 80km/hr speed limit...does it mean anything slower is consider inconsiderate?

Erm bro i dont think that on a busy high speed road u cycling a bike should have the right of way. Even if ur wife or gf know will also worry for you, u just need 1, just one driver that is not skilled enough, or maybe drunk, or maybe simple blur to kill u instantly. No joke le, 70-80km/hr can kill u instantly even before your life can flash in front of you. All these risk just because you want to enjoy cycling 30km/hr? That driver the most go to jail but u go to heaven, so in the end who suffer? EVERYONE... just because something totally avoidable? why not cycle on roads late night where there is ample lanes for cars to use the 2nd and 1st lance so u can ride ur bicycle on the 3rd lane? or at least to the point that it is safe? Just my friendly advise to those cyclist.
Hotamp 3rd Gear July 20, 2012 Share July 20, 2012 Just to be fair....not every cyclist, driver,rider/pedestrian is bad....just that in every group you will bound to find some axxholes around that will screw up everyone's life....will be a never ending argument if we start to take sides..... when a life is at stake, if can just be patient/considerate( be it cyclist/driver/rider/pedestrian) a little and at the end of the day everyone goes home loh..you maybe legally right but when a life is lost, not worth it correct or not. Liping24cn Clutched July 20, 2012 Share July 20, 2012 Most cyclist are driving to cycle by the expensive COE. You think anyone don't want to own a car and travel in comfort meh? Those that risk their life on bicycle traveling to work are quite pitiful. Risking their life daily, while bluffing themself they are exercising and helalthy and saving the earth. I don't deny the ambition is correct. But it's just does not not work in Singapore where the weather is hot and the road are narrow and dangerous. ↡ Advertisement
