Adrianli Hypersonic September 4, 2014 Share September 4, 2014 thanks. but if space between the rearview mirror and windscreen has a housing for sensors, then it has to be placed below which might affect driver's view Then u can place the camera on either side of the sensor housing, top of windscreen. No need die die in the center one. Car camera have wide angle lens. If u scroll back, u can see I am using two car camera. One in the center and one on top of driver side. Both capture the same thing. ↡ Advertisement

TVT Supercharged September 4, 2014 Share September 4, 2014 Will a dash cam partially block the driver's front view? Some of these cameras look pretty big You are asking about a cam that is mounted on the dashboard right ? Not on the windscreen...if I read correctly. This is a potential window smashing, snatch and grab situation in JB!!! I would not encourage to mount it this way. I maintain a clean dashboard when driving to JB.

Tireburner 3rd Gear September 5, 2014 Share September 5, 2014 Need some advice here. I'm using Smart, a Taiwanese made cam that sticks on the windscreen. The holder drops off after a while like around once a month. Recently, when it dropped off, it did so suddenly that the plug from the power cable was pulled out of place leaving only bare wires. With that, my cam is without the power source. Anyone knows where I can buy a cigarette charger power cable with the specs of Input 12Vdc/24Vdc, Output 5Vdc 1A. Length 3.4m. Went to Challenger and Best Denki but couldn't find it. Thanks in advance.

TVT Supercharged September 5, 2014 Share September 5, 2014 This is a potential window smashing, snatch and grab situation in JB!!! Btw, these car cams are now selling commonly in JB. In many major shopping malls I see shops selling them, especially those selling handphones. Soon it'll be common on Malaysian cars as well.
