Kippei 3rd Gear May 31, 2015 Share May 31, 2015 Hi bro u using DR750? Good ? Thank ? Way better than china brand. It run hot but so far so good even in parking mode. But just take note it will just drain your car battery if you never turn on the timer and auto cut off function

Wolfverine Twincharged May 31, 2015 Share May 31, 2015 With the LCD display, it will definitely take up more power. Was also told that the LCD will heat up the unit faster and definitely not ideal to leave it on during parking mode especially in the climate of ours. I heard that there is a way to turn the LCD off until required; you might want to consider to save power consumption/avoid overheating. Kevin613 1st Gear June 1, 2015 Share June 1, 2015 I didn't have any power drain issue with DR750 so far, even before I replaced my 2 years old battery. I think the keyword is proper installation. The unit is actually smart enough to detect if battery is running low or temperature is too high before it shuts itself down, again only of your unit is properly installed. But holding a lead acid battery at 12v and below, with the alternator usually wont able to charge the battery fully will only decrease the battery life span. Imagine i have to spend 12 hours to charge my battery to full from 12v on a 5 amp charger using the mains.
Nissan833 5th Gear June 1, 2015 Share June 1, 2015 For blackvue owners here.. did you all change to a bigger capacity micro SD card? Or just leave at stock whatever the installer provided? Mine is 16GB.

angmoh 1st Gear June 1, 2015 Share June 1, 2015 (edited) personally, i dont see a need why you need to have huge capacity to store thousands of clips for many days. Usually when there's an accident/incident, you most likely will immediately retrieve the clips from the memory card. Any capacity that can store 1-2 days of footages is good enough, I think. For me, I prefer to have the largest capacity the car camera able to take. For my DR400HD, 32G. If you are using parking mode, you would like to have the largest capacity to store the footage for the whole parking time which can be a full day or two. It makes sense to have a large capacity if you park over a few days. But, wouldn't your battery be flat? How many days of parking have you tried without the battery going flat? Any idea where to find a blackvue power cable that can take power from USB? Blackvue takes 12V USB gives 5V U will need to step up the voltage from 5V to 12V. This step up will cause a lot of heat loss thus inefficient. U will need to look for laptop powerbanks with 12V output. And if u park ur car under hot sun, do not use powerbank, risk of battery "jit ba bomb".

My parking are all underground and multistory carparks, so heat from the sun shouldn't be an issue... will hunt for a reasonable price notebook powerbank as well. Can't buy from amazon as they don't ship li-on batteries internationally. my current G1WH and SJ4000 cameras all run on micro USB and 5volts.... didn't realise buying into the blackvue will have so much more things to think about. Maybe I should have just used these 2 cameras as a dual front rear set up. http://www.ebay.com/itm/USB-DC-5V-to-DC-12V-Step-up-Power-Supply-Module-Converter-2-1x5-5mm-Male-Plug-/131371156099?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1e9654c283 Edited June 2, 2015 by ricleosg ↡ Advertisement
