bought mine from Q10 and installed it myself, cost less than half the amount from buying retail and having the shop install for you..

Pardon me if repeated post, but I am tempted to buy from Q10. Price is half of workshop. Any advice?

Swee. So far how is the resolution etc? Looking at the HD with wifi capability. Just worried as sometimes not all Q10 stuff are genuine.

clear enough for me, i didnt download any of the videos onto my laptop, just viewing them via straming using the Blackvue app from google play. if it works with the Blackvue app, i think it's safe to assume it's the real deal.. [:)] just make sure to check seller rating and buy from seller with good reviews..

Thanks bro!!! So far I assume it does not run the battery dry and it has auto off function despite tapping in with wifi? Does your model comes with motion sensor?.

There's 1 wire that needs to tap ACC+(for when engine is running), 1 Wire to battery 12V(for when engine is not running), and 1 wire for Ground, which all can be found in your fusebox. It won't drain the battery when it's wired properly as i can set it to cut off when my battery hit a certain preset voltage. I kept my wifi off unless i need to connect it to my phone. What motion sensor do you mean? when car is moved/knocked in parking mode?

Motion sensor as in when the car eng is off and the camera is off initially, but switched on if movement detected in front. Is there such a function as I saw it in some other cameras. Puzzling though on how does it conserves battery.

it's not really "off" when the engine is off, it's just simply discarding the recordings that aren't important, and keep the sections that has "Events", and mark the video as recorded in event mode, thats why these videos can always record up to 5-10 seconds before the events to show you what really happened.
IIRC, the DR750LW-2CH can work in that mode up to 36 hours(configurable), or up till your battery has drain to preset level, whichever comes first.

Appreciate if you can provide link where you can get for 1/2 price as the model I'm looking at (Blackvue 650) costs $590+ on Q10 with 32GB memory and power magic (before installation) - http://list.qoo10.sg/item/BLACKVUE-2015-NEW-BLACKVUE-DR650GW-2CH/411666553

That is close to what the local authorized shops are quoting!

The 650 is currently on offer locally at $568. Power magic will be at a discount when bought with the 650. You can check it out with the agents.

Question: Why have you not considered the 750?

Heard that having LCD in Singapore context is not very appropriate as it will heat up even faster. Nevertheless, the wi-fi feature is sufficient for me as I don't need to have a view of it constantly.

only if you leave the LCD on constantly.. i have the screen off all the time unless i interact with it, find it annoying if the screen is on when i drive at night..

nope, DR750LW-2CH dont need power magic pro, it already has the voltage detect and power cut function built into the unit. Note that you need proper installation(which is DIY-able) for this to work, you will not be able to use this if you use the cigarette plug to power the unit.

look at the specs in the link below

http://www.blackvue.com/en/contents/sub1.asp?idx=25

btw, i successfully updated my unit to 1.012 using the FOTA method. It failed when i tried to update it for the first time, and the unit is stucked in "Downloading Firmware" screen. Without restarting the unit, i tried to connect my phone and upgrade the firmware again, and it went through without any issues. The whole uploading and upgrading process took about 15 minutes, and it will wipe all the settings, so be sure to reconfigure all your settings.

also, not sure if it's placebo effect, the new firmware does feel more snappy, and the touch screen feels more responsive. The issue associated with my 128GB card where i have to power-cycle the unit after settings changed also seems to went away. Shall monitor if it has any other issues.

Can someone do me a favour?

As I mentioned above, my unit couldn't boot becos my firmware update failed. Read at dashcamtalk forum that I can restore by using a backup of my sdcard. Which I did not make a copy.

Could someone send me a copy of ur backup for dr750? Of cos pls delete ur recordings. Thanks in advance
