Kazuo Neutral Newbie December 19, 2014 Share December 19, 2014 Initially I was thinking to buy from Qxx as well. But after much consideration, actually buying locally still ok although price on Qxx still cheaper (but by not much). $500, sometimes if you are unlucky, you will still be tax for GST. The inconvenience to claim warranty (looking at the messages in Qxx makes me worry) and no installation. Unless you are good at DIY Anyway, it is my personal view You probably never search properly. There's one selling at around S$300, make it S$350 if you add in installation fee (got mine done at $40). That's easily $200 difference. But of course there is no warranty. So that is for individual to decide whether to risk or not. The seller do provide warranty but you will have to ship it back to them which will takes time. Mercury1 Turbocharged December 20, 2014 Share December 20, 2014 I use the Blackvue 650 front and rear video camera, I notice when the video records from the front and switches to the rear recording a few seconds of recording will go missing. I.e if you watch the front camera and the next front camera footage a few seconds will disappear in between. Anyone face this issue?

Later I go and check. So you are saying only front camera footage a few seconds missing between each file? Or just the part when it boots up? It means it can capture videos 2x faster than normal sdcard. How about try format again? U know if u long press the wifi button it does a complete format of your sd card? I haven't notice the lag yet, will try it when got time. I know previous model the subsequent files r recorded 1-2seconds earlier so there wil b overlaps.
Mercury1 Turbocharged December 20, 2014 Share December 20, 2014 Haha ah okay thanks for clarifying. Later I try to format it clean and maybe update the firmware and see if it improves things. Did u buy imported set? I read if u buy imported set n its not international version u might face strange prbs like the one u mentioned. Cos they merely forcing the korean firmware to operate like english. If u go qoo10, some dealers r pointing at certain ones saying they selling fake international (korean) version. If you are as unlucky as me, the front camera did not work after first night. I got a new set installed the next day. Warranty will be cumbersome if this happens on an unlucky day. However, camera fails to work on an unlucky day will applies to local, oversea or used sets. Warranty set doesn't mean it will never fails during the period. It is never to compare (and compete) to see which is better, is just to provide feedback and opinion on the options available for everyone.
Mercury1 Turbocharged December 22, 2014 Share December 22, 2014 (edited) Hi, Yep mine is an imported set, but I have imported in others before no probs. Also the seller sells international sets to alot of overseas customers and so far no complaints. I will try to update the firmware and see what happens. ruddies 2nd Gear January 7, 2015 Share January 7, 2015 Anyone can help me out on my newly installed bv650? The unit was installed with magic power for parked recording. In less than a month, the front camera got hanged. It works a while after reset but hangs indefinitely with no lights on during park. At next engine start, it remains hanged. Is it due to heat induced?

They claim my micro SD 64gb from Bangkok (Kingston and they format with firmware) is the root cause. Plucked in the original bv card and appears fine. Will monitor and share. AD says bv650 does not have overheating issue as the fix is done. ↡ Advertisement
