power magic = cuts off the power supply when the voltage drops below certain level and recording stops when that happens. this is to prevent full drainage of the car battery.

cellink B = completely separate battery from the car. gets charged when the car engine is running. this way, it is supposed not to drain off the car battery. typically, a fully charged cellink can last about 17 hours for front/back recording.

not sure what is T power.

I had the DR650-dual channel for 2 months now, so far so good.

Video quality for the front is decent enough to identify car plates, rear cam good enough for you to see who bang your behind. Night capture noise level is pretty high on both front and back.

With the stock 16GB card it overwrites itself after 1.5 hours of drive, but with a 64GB the card can store up to whole day worth of recording. No overheating issues.

May I know the brand/model of your 64GB card? My installer informed me that several customers had issues using the 64GB card and Blackvue is sorting it out.

I am using Transcend class10, it worked fine for 2 weeks then 1 day the Blackvue keep shouting "please check SD card" throughout the whole journey. Tried to reformat the card with the car cam but still doesn't fix the problem.

End up identified the Transcend card was faulty, lots of bad sectors cannot even format on a computer.

Now using another piece of Transcend 64GB while the faulty one was sent for RMA. Not sure if its the card issue or car cam issue, plan to try Strontium micro-SD if my 2nd Transcend fails on me.

Mine the power magic did not cut off the cam when it falls below 12v setting and it caused my car unable to start. My car batt is 6mths old. Thought it's the power magic faulty but after replacing it still the same. Anyone knows what's the problem?

Thanks for your reply.

I read on the Blackvue UK forum that certain models of 64GB micro sd cards should be avoided and there is a list of recommended micro sd cards. See link below:

just to chip in, i've been using the Samsung Evo 128GB with my DR750 without issues so far except when i change any settings, may need to pull the plug and replug it. picked it over the others since it's said to be tested for extreme temp.

had tonnes of bad experience with sandisk, and will avoid them at all costs.

no overheat issues for me when i drive, nor park so far. However, note though that my car is always parked under roof, so i wouldnt know what will happen if i park under the hot sun. the unit is supposed to shut itself down when overheated, if its working properly.

My Transcend 64Gb and Samsung Evo 64Gb either "Please check your SD card" in 4 days or just hang for no reason.

Exact same problem on my Transcend 300x 64GB. After few days the Blackvue keeps shouting the same thing.

When I put the card into my computer the card seems corrupted and plenty of bad sectors upon reformat (failed to reformat fully also).

Good thing is the Transcend has lifetime warranty.

Hi

I've tried Papago which is a 1-ch dashcam without parking mode. Works very well for 3.5 yrs until i decided to change to a 2 ch Blackvue 650 when i got my Sylphy recently.

With my 650, i get a piece of mind whenever a parallel park. I know i am covered against numbskull hit-&-run drivers that i came across on youtube Who hit your parked vehicle at the rear when they try to parallel park. Extra cost but investing in a piece of mind. The wifi function also allows you to transfer clips into your smartphone easily for editing and submitting into any other platforms.

Recording time depends on your SD card.

But do get the power magic if you do get the 650. Check to ensure that the installers get the voltage right. Also by default, they will set the duration as infinity. I changed it to 12 hr just in case.

During installation, the installers (authorised distributors of blackvue) installed the power magic into the underside of the dashboard. It was only after i questioned their teaspoon for doing so and my preference to access to the multi booter switch that they relocated the switch to underneath the steering wheel. Just to take note of this part before they install.

On the overheating part, well it still exist. At least it doesn't overheat till it breaks down. It is just heated up but still functioning.

I'm planning to install Blackvue 600 or 650-2CH for next ride, but looking for advice from current owners.

Do you feel the 2CH is worth the extra? Do you feel the Blackvue cams have good quality for the price, or compared to other brands? (this one is important to me)

Also how is the max recording time?

Also I want to check with all current owners whether the complaints about overheating issue from old gen really gone...

edit: also for bros with new car under AD warranty, do they make noise when you install the cam?
