Hillbilly Neutral Newbie February 24, 2013 Share February 24, 2013 Hello I am a new user but would like to contribute I have a Blackvue 500 in windscreen and a 350 in rear of my Passat Also have a 400 in windscreen of wifes POLO Have not had any trouble with any of them and the 400 has been used for a year and a half in 3 countries in outside temps up to 42C One day it was so hot in the car I couldnt touch the steering wheel but the camera still worked fine. I dont really like the wider angle of the 500 and think the narrower 400 is better. My 500 is a Korean version but have got it to run the English viewer etc. I got a copy of the files off and English version SD Card and edited the Config file All you have to do is change the English in the Audio line to "KOREA" NOT KOREAN The audio will still be Korean but thats not a bother. It does give you the English viewer which means you can understand the settings and gives all the time zones for the GPS Also the Maps in My view are now English. I use a Power Magic slightly modified for both cameras. What I did was bought some fuses with tails on them so I could easily connect the wires. I have the front camera running off the ACC wire BEFORE it goes into the PM and has a 1 amp line fuse. The rear camera runs off the PM also through a 1 amp line fuse. I ran the Power wire from an always on fuse through a small switch to the PM so I can switch it off if I dont want Park mode This allows me to turn off the Park mode easily if not needed as car is almost always parked in garage and rarely in a public space. Different to what they say to do but it works for me. I havent had any heat problems but do agree the things get hot. In fact the SD card almost burns fingers sometimes when taking it out but that would still be only about 50C which is within specs

Dscheng 3rd Gear February 26, 2013 Share February 26, 2013 (edited) Hi all, Where is the best posture to mount the BV camera? Due to the stupid wiper design of civic FD, the wiper cant reach the windscreen centre part. I still figuring out where is the best position to mount the camera. If i mount on the red spot, it seem to be the most centre spot. But i am worried about my view and it will expose the wiring too. Sorry for my ugly drawing hahah. Mount it directly above ur driver side or passenger side. Its a wide angle lens so still able to cover the front part of ur car but sides will not be able to be covered. Mount it in the centre just behind your rear view mirror. Since that view there is already blocked by your rear view mirror, hence installing your camera will not further block your view (for safety purpose). Then apply Rain-X at the location where your wiper do not sweep through. Don't apply Rain-X everywhere otherwise you will get the annoying squeaking noise when the wiper is on. Jtb 6th Gear February 27, 2013 Share February 27, 2013 doesn't matter with it during drizzling. cure the un-wipe portion with a coat and will be alright during heavy rain.

Really works? U see my below video. Mount on the top centre, but once raining, the stupid water droplet block the camera view. Sorry for the lousy VGA DR350 cam, lolz, i had already sell away.
