Kian73 Neutral Newbie September 1, 2012 Share September 1, 2012 So, what's your poison? Q2, Quaife or AD. this is real poison...anyone with experience importing used car from South Africa? Rough calculation about $212,000 all in to bring in the vehicle and put it on the road based on current COE rate of $88k (OMV about $50k). $18.5K depreciation... Is it worth it? http://www.autotrader.co.za/used-cars/alfa.../dealer/2003114 ↡ Advertisement

Gemini555 Neutral Newbie September 1, 2012 Share September 1, 2012 Sorry if this has been asked before. Does Hurricane make an air filter for the the 159? If yes, where can I grab one? I'm also looking for a slightly used Novitec exhaust. If you have one for sale, please let me know. Thanks.

This is the steel one right? the novitec filters or BMC CDAs are usually the norm here.

Is it worth it? http://www.autotrader.co.za/used-cars/alfa.../dealer/2003114 That is a very high price to pay IMO. One way to overcome this is to get the seller to reduce the price on all documents. Have a look at them also in AU or UK if you are thinking of importing - Ive looked into it but only interested in a classic like a Guilietta Spider as it will NOT depreciate. And they havent been - still kick myself I missed out on a fully restored nut and bolt restoration one from UK for 22K UKP a couple of years (and pre COE madness) back. Saabretooth 2nd Gear September 2, 2012 Share September 2, 2012 I don't know this is where to get it. much cheaper due to their bulk purchase and resale http://autolusso.co.uk/new_alfa_parts/322-...fferential.html

Kian73 Neutral Newbie September 2, 2012 Share September 2, 2012 from SA... now if it came with a 3.7 conversion... haha.... ship it to UK for the conversion to be done and bring it in? that would be something extraordinary...
Saabretooth 2nd Gear September 2, 2012 Share September 2, 2012 haha.... ship it to UK for the conversion to be done and bring it in? that would be something extraordinary... no need. they have some of the best and cheapest conversions available in SA. We could have it done in malaysia too but I don't know the workshops, and the downtime is too long.... don't want to rush this kind of work... in any case. I am not going to mod the car much other than replacing worn parts with much better ones.

Gorjiam 1st Gear September 3, 2012 Share September 3, 2012 The Q2 LSDs are about $200SGD more excl taxes. the Quaife ones are alright. the AD ones are probably costing a bomb more. The parts are ok, its the labor and time taken for the install that will hit the pocket. ?!? During my time the Q2s were a lot cheaper than Quaife. Furthermore didn't like the characteristics of Quaife, but that could be just me.

Saabretooth 2nd Gear September 3, 2012 Share September 3, 2012 I thought you wanted to install the Ferrari F430 Throttle Body and bump the horses to 300? of course... that's when the throttle body wears out..... and since the TB is out, might just help to improve the flow by having a larger plenum..... ↡ Advertisement
