Hi guys, been driving my ride for 3 years now. It's a AR 159 Q2 .I got an after market 19" rim with 110 PCD. Not ALFA rim.

Went for balancing at Kaki Bukit yesterday. The tyre man told me that I've to get a "center piece" staff for

after market wheel or else it wont be safe cos the entire ride ( 1.5 tonne) are relying on the 5 studs only.... [sweatdrop][sweatdrop] .

He also include that the piece will align the tyre fitting nicely and car wont vibrate. He say stock rim dont need the piece.

True enaf, my car do vibrate even after balancing. Any 1 have this experience b4 ? Any valuable advise ?

Thanks a lot.

Yes pls put it ony. Stabilizes the rims. And gives it a proper fit for the centrebore of the rims

Planning to get Asso Cuore HID kit for 159. Anyone know which workshop is experience in installation for 159?

Don't spend that kind of money. A few guys did it for <$250 including ballast, HID and bypass. Had it for almost half a year... No issues.

But make sure it is a reputable installer. There are many cases whereby HID kits are wrongly fitted and cause headaches to owners and could lead to a void in warranty. Best to get it done properly.

Sent you a PM for the installer.

I did mine previously at City Auto. Look for Jason Quek, he is the owner of City Auto and a long time friend of mine. He gets my color mixed well.

Centre bore size for 159 is 65.1mm essentially same as Saabs, PCD as well. If yours is aftermarket, majority of the PCD will match 5 x 110 or in some cases 5 x 108 with wobbly nuts (not recommended).

That said, your mechanic is correct. You would require a adaptor. Otherwise, your rims should it be smaller than 65.1mm centre bore, your rims are essentially resting on the 5 lugs instead of the centre bore. The lugs are more to secure and not to support. In time to come, you will cut through the lugs thus weakening it and potentially breaking it after prolong stress.

Please get the adaptors fitted soon.

Try to get it at Leong Seng @ Paya Ubi, Pit Stop or any Stamford Tyres outlet. they would have.

Thank you, I have received ur PM. Did you get ur HID kit from them? I thought Asso HID will be better, problem free, that why don't mind pay more to prevent any problem.

Well, it is always good to get a set of branded part(s) but that said, you are ordering stuff from overseas and in this instance, Japan.

Do factor in possible scenarios especially ordering electronic part(s) such as HIDs:

1. Faulty Ballast, HIDs or Bypass (Dispute can arise during installation which encountered by many)

2. Installer Issue

Upside of getting and fitting it locally. Any issue with the part(s), they replace it on the spot until they get it right. Most installers gives warranty for their goods sold (especially with the lemon law in place) which gives you a piece of mind. So far for these 6 months, I had replaced 1 bulb and a ballast for free on the first month. Minor issues but haven't had any since the replacement.

I forgot, mine includes pole light as well with bypass which explains the higher cost.

My installer has been very good for aftersales so no complain.

Guys, I am obtaining my FIA National A License followed by FIA International C License in 2013.

For the FIA National A License, it is a higher grade license that is issued out by the SMSA for drivers that take up a 2 day licensing program by one of the afilliated racing schools by SMSA.

I have 3 confirm pax including myself for the 2 days induction course. Those interested can PM me for details. I have 2 slots to fill. Schedule will be out soon.

Iridium/Saabretooth?

Please note that the license (at least during my time) has an expiry date. So if you are taking it to participate in a sanctioned event, please keep in time the schedules.
