Jaglim Neutral Newbie July 16, 2012 Share July 16, 2012 Buying a china car now is considered siao. Lol, no la if you buy china car or korea car, to many people it is not consider hao lian. Looks like servicing for merc doesnt consider very expensive like what i heard. It's depends on where and how you service.

Jaglim Neutral Newbie July 16, 2012 Share July 16, 2012 Che, like that you go to Germany where all taxi are Merc, so you think these driver are most knowledgeable about cars? Not that we don't wish to fix out own car. No garage and many lta rulings are probably the main reason for it. Well, not many pple in SG really know about cars.... All they know is the badge.......... See how many complains about VW cars and pple think its some luxury car when its nothing more than a B&B car oversea.....lol.... Only pple oversea really know about car reliability because they have to fix their own cars as labour is very expensive. Visit oversea forums, see how pple oversea complain abt the issues they faced. MCF is nothing more than a place to tok cok sing song.

Angchug 3rd Gear July 16, 2012 Share July 16, 2012 Agreed, maybe easy to buy a merc but confirmed not easy to maintain a merc. Heard everytime servicing of a merc need to pay at least few hundred dollars! I downgraded from Fortuner to MB B170. Maintain is almost the same. Engine oil and filter is the same price. B170 battery can last for 4-5 years compare to Japanese car. There are pro and con but not much wear n tear.

HP_Lee 5th Gear July 16, 2012 Share July 16, 2012 Where on earth did you get the idea that merc parts are better lasting??? Don't you know that Merc and BMWs are among the most unreliable cars?? Talk about long lasting.......lol.... Merc are meant for those who has money to spend but cannot afford Lambo or Ferrari ones. But in SG, many idiots who got no money want to boost ego and act like they are rich so buy Merc, BMWs etc....... If you ever work in a law firm you will be surprised to see how many BMW, Merc get towed away every month because they could afford to keep it.........jokers.... I just have to agree this honestly. In today's context, most driving such cars have their belts tighten up. I have seen quite a few of young executives at Merc showroom. Wonder where they got the money from. How long batt can last does not depend on the brand of the car, its the battery used and positioning of the battery..... Btw, let you know that my el cheapo car battery already 4yrs old... Its cheapo Amaron some more. Not some expensive branded stuff. Secret? I place it in the trunk away from the heat in the engine bay. Battery naturally last much longer. Srt911 Neutral Newbie July 16, 2012 Share July 16, 2012 i had heard that a Merc using 7G-tronic travelling at 80km/hr is having 1.5K RPM only. maybe that is the reason? Not only that. The new CGI engines are really efficient. Direct injection turbo engine. I can easily get 700km per tank before the lights come up.

13177 Hypersonic July 20, 2012 Share July 20, 2012 Toyota to MB, should be up-grade... ? Maybe he refers to the size of the car. Fortuner such a big SUV whereas MB B170 is consider mid-size hatchback. But wonder how come Fortuner and MB B170 maintenance is about the same?
