WML888 2nd Gear July 15, 2012 Share July 15, 2012 In view of today's high COE, for a slight higher depreciation, would you buy a pre-owned Mercedes ? ↡ Advertisement
Camrysfa Turbocharged July 15, 2012 Share July 15, 2012 haha.... i look at the merc series and have a rough gauge of the price. e.g. E200 shld be ard 200k. that was before the coe went mental. buying a pre-owned merc may not be a problem, the scary part is the upkeep...ordinary ah tan will not be be able to tahan. FocusWagon 1st Gear July 15, 2012 Share July 15, 2012 You are paying inflated price for a valueless coe (less than 20k) If coe goes south, those that bought new still have high paper value suporting them. Those who bought inflated used, will have to drop their pants

But in theory, the second hand car buyers are paying the same depreciation as a new car, but holding a lower Coe paper value.

Agreed, maybe easy to buy a merc but confirmed not easy to maintain a merc. Heard everytime servicing of a merc need to pay at least few hundred dollars!
