Came across this last Sunday near Kaki Bukit Road where lots of construction workers and "foreign talents" dorms are.

This motorized cyclist was riding in lane 2 like he is a tax-paying road user.. Worse, he is an obstruction and safey hazzard to drivers.

While halted at Eunos Link junction, I saw his bike sign "LTA Approved".. WTF!!! Either he is trying to smoke drivers or he kanna smoked by others.

I've reported this to LTA and TP. [rifle]

If lane 3 is left turn only, why not?

If he is turning right & lane 2 is the most left lane, why not?

The only thing that is he should stand in the middle of the lane like a car. That's to ensure he is not ignored by driver.

"LTA Approved"=LTA Approved e-bike only lah.

All electric bikes MUST be approved by LTA n indeed need to pay LTA a fee for registering the approved bicycle.

So legally he is allowed on the road.

The sign is factually correct.

There is a blue seal on all approved LTA electric bike.

(edited)

My point is whether cyclist is allowed to ride in the lane like a driver/motorbiker. Bear in mind that they can't go fast and thus, is definitely hogging the entire lane.

whether the bike is LTA approved technically is not important; it's how the rider rides it.

Don't focus on the digging nose part <_<

Legally, bicycle = vehicle.

Bicycle is required to ride left of the left most lane. For safety concern, it is always advisable to ride in the middle of the lane. If there is sufficient space, it would be good that cyclist ask driver to overtake.

Yep, a cyclist has just as much right to use the road as a car, they must obey the same rules, and other motorists must treat them the same way they would a car

In the old day , bicycle also have a red n round registration plate, are we going towards that direction nd make the cyclt pay road tax too.

Personally i think it is dangerous for bicycle to be on the road, legality for bicycle to stay on road is a diff issue.

I think siuation in every country is diff. For me, bicycle should stay on park connectors.

Wah ...elitist snob [laugh]

You ever tried to get to anywhere useful using only park connector? Cannot be done.

Cycling is a great and fun way to get around - and under certain circumstances can be faster and more convenient than Public transport.

rather than trying to get bikes off the road - I would like to see more effort being put into more routes for them to get cars off the road....

I still maintain that bicycle should stay off road in Singapore context.i am saying this because i care for the cylist life. The driving culture here cannot co exist with the cyclist.
