True to an extent. But EV has its conveniences also.

My fuel warning light came on on the way to work but I was late for meeting.

park whole day in office.

Then I needed to go fetch my grandson but the usual route doesn’t have the station I want, so I had to search for alternative and it added 4 mins to my route + potentially hitting the start of peak hour traffic.

and right across me are two empty EV charging lots, which I could have used in the morning had I been driving an EV

Wont say it is a perfect car but 150k with 8.5s, RWD & 50/50 weight distribution (sounds familiar, ya😉)...where to find? 😄

Ya I think so. Car is barely 3+ months. WTLP is 450km. Usually hit around 450km to 500+km, based on econ/normal mode mixture. Below is my current status this min from app:

True.

But I don't think it will affect many drivers as most local drivers do less than 1000KM per month with a fuel cost of like $200 thereabouts.

The monthly fuel price increase is still peanuts compared to the prices of cars nowadays.

Bro, if your petrol is $500, then EV will probably cost u $200-$250 thereabouts. Unless you are staying in landed property and paying home electricity rates.

Based on MG4, 1k km is about $90/mth using Charge+ AC

Yap, about there, i remember paying for electricity would be around 50% +/- in terms of cost vs a similar ICE.

A modern ICE (non performance oriented) car would consume around 14km/L, 1k km would cost around $165 for ron 95 after discount.

Therefore, for most local drivers, driving EV don't really save them money.

The selling point should be the quietness and instant torque.

Look like you are trying very hard to get yourself justify for an EV.

Come join the dark side, you can get the Skoda Enyaq RS if the 85 is too slow for you. Still cheaper than many conti EV. And still a nice German ride and handling characteristics.

I love the OPD, best invention for EV.. and use no creep. When I feel like coasting then turn off OPD..

I saw an Orange one at amk Ave 5 cte exit yesterday. Rare car. Good choice!

I see it generates quite of fair # of likes and I am scared.😅

Just to state it up front...I am car driver who places handling above gadgets and features. All I ask for in a car for features are blind spot detector and 360 cam. Rest I can do without. MG4 is not for someone who like slick interfaces (I am fine with the slight laggy interface), feature-rich, karaoke in car etc. 😅 It is more german than chinese imo.

Exactly the reason why I initially targeting the BYD Seal Premium and later moved over to Skoda Enyaq. 

Too many gadgets in the Chinese car.. I basically want a car with enough safety features. 

More important to me is the drive, good ride and handling.

I cannot accept those fancy thing like even a cabin glove box need to open through the touch screen.
