It not wrong.. ICE is still more convenient and has ease of accessibility to petrol pumps.

only wild card is the Geo politics that’s causing fuel prices to escalate

As compared to ICE, EV is more convenient for me.

There are 6 charging slot in my estate MSCP🤭

If you don’t mind non OTA update , drum brakes in a $200k EV and a laggard in the EV industry, this is a worth while consideration with Xmas round the corner

Was quite interested in Enyaq till I notice it has drum brakes too. I mean that is a 80s tech, no? Costs cutting? Yes, I know EV has 1 pedal but I want the brakes to just bite when I need it urgently. 😅

That’s a different segment la.

B4 EV, Denza was not well regarded locally

Yah, different segment.

But they enjoya lot as drive often to those few hours trip to near by city, town for short holiday.  And basically all hotel they stay will offer DC fast charge.

Also convenient me when I visit Shanghai,  easy to bring me out for short holiday 😂

Actually I realise I am actually saving time/trips to pump station after driving EVs for a while. I simply just charge when I go to any place with free EV charging lots available while running errands like buy groceries, cut hair, place of worship, at office car park etc.

As compared to mechanical brake, regen brake is very effective.

Mechanical brake supplement it.

Pickup truck (Hilux) still use rear drum

Go test drive, the braking power really does not make any different.  As main brake come from regenerative power.

Since the rim is also typical EV rim, you can't see inside and notice the drum brake.

I also thought about this.

my petrol is about $500. Switch to EV maybe $100.

Save $4800 per year, $48k over 10 years.

But if I sell my car now and buy a 200k EV, I upfront pay 80k more.

So I scrapped the thought and continue to pollute the world.

Do add the road tax and insurance premium compared to ICE 😁

yup 2liter ICE is less the 1.5K. 300bhp EV is 2K

So buying a Gti with 265BHP still cheaper.

I don't really like 1 pedal driving and I use creep mode even I am now driving an EV. But yes, if on 1 pedal, then it does not matter. Maybe I should give it a try too, just the its price is too high.

That's why ICE & EV road tax should be harmonised

The good thing about Enyaq is there are multiple mode to select.

I test drive the PoleStar 2 Performance with 1 pedal driving, also hate it. It is too strong.

While Enyaq has very light 1 pedal model to stronger one, even the highest setting is not that strong till uncomfortable.

It doesn't matter whether it is 1 pedal drive or not, EV will always be brake-by-wire.

Regen => Mechanical Brake.
