AlexanderArk17 Clutched May 22, 2024 Share May 22, 2024 If you're thinking about getting an EV, it's really helpful to check out user reviews, especially from people who live in similar weather as you. Look for models with good battery cooling systems to make sure they last longer and work well.

It means BEVs will be good enough to replace ICE anyway. We have seen how our ah gong handles halfbaked schemes like LPG hybrid... So in the meanwhile, just enjoy the swan song of ICE and let others be the guinea pigs if you can... Unless you have tonnes of money to spare and wants to help with nation building... Terence2112 2nd Gear May 22, 2024 Share May 22, 2024 Biggest issue with EV is the available distance for a full 100% charge, and even so, it is advisable to charge to 80%. Local context, no problem. Charging stations almost everywhere. But going up North, to KL, Genting will be a problem.

Many Charging Stations along the highway, rest points and petrol kiosks. The problem is by road on East side to Kelantan & Kedah after Kota Tinggi. Very few charging stations. Local context, no problem. Charging stations almost everywhere. But going up North, to KL, Genting will be a problem. EV is all about Battery tech, just like ICE is all about lean burn and turbo charging...with CATL and Blade battery, its no longer a valid reason to worry about charging to 100% like a HP battery. The main reason now is , charging from 80 to 100% takes as much time as 20% to 80%. that 20% of wait time dont make econmic sense of time wasted. Further more, we have evolve from 400v to 800 volt architecture with close to 1000KM range for cars been produce from 2025. The cost of ICE engine vs BAttery is the killer. With the new advancement recently, the cost of batt is now 30 to 40% of the total cost of the EV. so it has become relatively competitive in producing the EV then ICE. This obvious reason other then the subsidies has made the EV from China even cheaper . The stigma of China product has been increasing reduce to the part that China made product is now the new benchmark for quality and premium feel. By all means😙 Nowadays AMDK brands like VW, MB are backtracking on BEVs and aim to build more hybrids including PHEVs. Not because BEVs are not good, but because it's really tough to compete against the price points of Chinese BEVs. So might as well pull out of the earlier strategy and refocus on what's left on the table 😁 3
