I don't think most ppl will use their tesla for long road trips, it's do-able but most ppl would take their SUV instead.

I am actually surprised that more EV players are coming to SG than the much larger market than Australia, which sells more than 1m new cars a year. 

Looks like Chinese EV players are using Singapore, which is rolling out the charging network aggressively, to test their products.

ok lah. but aussie is so big and sparsely populated outside the major urban centers. BEV will only be a small fraction of vehicles there. Especially since you guys like to travel internally for holidays etc. 

Other than seeing teslas in CBD, M1 inside melbourne and 1 in mornington, i didn't see any other EVs.

Didn't they remedy most of the problem by installing chargers plugged into diesel gen-sets hidden (some not even that) around the back?

haha it reminds me some news i read few days ago, Panasonic's big battery factory in Texas/arizona (can't remember which one) needs so much power that they are building a dedicated Coal fired power plant to meet the electrical demand for it 😆

I guess the new immigrants would be more receptive to their country's brands? And strong govt support for charging infrastructure. 

If i didn't own xpeng stock (which has been disastrous), i wouldn't know about xpeng. Similarly i have no idea what these Aion, zeekr etc are. 

At least BYD have been around with the e6 PHVs etc for sometime.

actually it happens every year lah. 

UK had the same problem during xmas. And it also happens in northeastern US states also.

At least petrol stations during CNY, uncles/petrol kiosk cashiers don't mind getting double pay to man the pumps/cash register lol.

@Lala81 agree on the badge at the rear. A simple BYD would have been better. But their interior is pretty good for the price point. And yes BYD Seal interior is very premium.

The problem is as common as seeing people pee into bottles whilst trying cross the causeway at CNY or any long weekend, and yet.......

It is clear infrastructure cannot keep up with charging requirements hence recent delays in implementing the ICE bans, and some people's new focus on other solutions such as hydrogen and synthetic fuels. I believe if we had invested as much in these two solutions as invested in BEV, we would be in an environmentally better place without sacrificing user friendliness.

Got no complaints about the Seal. That is a swee modern car. 

Me and the missus were discussing about BYD's chinese name, we expected it to have some chinese name with mo shui. but it's just based off their english name. 

the BYD Seal can do without the icecream truck music at low speed and the extra BYD badge beside the Seal (very extra) and 3.4s badge (even more extra)....

Instead of 3.8s, put a Dual Motor tag like Tesla?  

I find it a bit strange to use century sprint to differentiate the variants but it is actually better than 316, 318, 320, 330, 340, M3.... Kinda of hard to figure out the engine replacement and the number of big and small turbos. This one says it all 😂.

One collegue owned EQC 400 driven at regen 3 (one pedal driving) complete set of tyres gone in 8 months.....now mostly set the regen to auto (radar based).

I think the instant deceleration is eating tyres.

 

Forgotten to mention that I got car sick with this aggresive deceleration as passenger, when alight from the car my head spinning.
