Did mount faber climb last week without any issues with kicks e power. It can easily climb while maintaining the battery level and no stress at all.

Kudos to nissan E-power, really a good innovative motoring idea for the masses at an affordable price.

But roughly how much did you pay for the car insurance? Based on your age...

I asking cos so far for full EVs their car insurance premiums are very high because of the car's high basic cost price. Whatever saving we need to look at the bigger picture.

Nissan e-power is hybrid.  It will be treated as ICE.

For EV, the comparison has always been orange vs apple.

Merc EQC 400 must compare with C53

With 50% NCD, from Directasia S$800 still got change. Age 37.

Nissan Kicks e-power is an electric car but luckily still have an 1.2 litre engine to charge the battery for the 129bhp electric motor with 260nm of torque.

So it came an hybrid car.

As the charging engine did not drive the wheels, road tax is calculated based on electric car road tax calculation which is 800 per year. Still reasonable.

I was at the showroom and sat at the rear row.

Not enough support for under thighs and did not want to test drive. The side profile looks like its from 80s era.

The veteran sales guy also talk too much.

@kelaihoyin Agreed, i will like to try Honda Vezel eHEV but my budget does not allow. Looking for Hybrid within my budget so took Nissan Kicks E power.

So far it is a very fuel efficient car and works very well in our start stop traffic condition. it can be also be very powerful when needed with 260nm of torque.

Sorry wrong comment

ComfortDelGro secures S$30m contract to operate electric bus fleet for NUS shuttle service

TRANSPORT operator ComfortDelGro Corporation, ComfortDelGro: C52 +0.66% through its wholly-owned private bus company ComfortDelGro Bus, is set to to operate Singapore's largest electrified private bus fleet after winning a S$30 million contract to operate the shuttle bus service at the National University of Singapore (NUS) campus.

In a press statement on Thursday (Nov 18), the transport operator said the multi-year contract is for the electrification of the university's entire fleet of shuttle service buses.

The NUS electric buses, which will begin operations from third quarter of 2022, will continue to serve the 8 existing shuttle bus routes within the campus covering NUS Kent Ridge campus, University Town as well as NUS Bukit Timah campus daily from 7 am to 11 pm, including public holidays.

Chief executive of ComfortDelGro Bus, Stephen Chow said the tender to operate the fleet is in line with the sustainability goals of both ComfortDelGro Bus and NUS.

"We are not new to providing the NUS shuttle service as we have been doing so for nearly 2 decades. But, to prepare us for the transition towards electrification, we had in July this year trialled an electric bus as part of the NUS shuttle service and that has given us insights as to how we can better manage when the entire fleet will be electrified next year," he added.

This tender comes about 2 months after ComfortDelGro Engineering and Engie South East Asia had won a strongly contested tender to operate 479 of 632 electric vehicle chargers slated for introduction next year. The chargers will be installed in selected carparks in the central, east and west regions of Singapore.

Charging Electric Vehicles
What you see in this video is an electric vehicle at a charging station with a shorting cell setting off all the rest. It's a chain reaction from the first to the fiery end of the vehicle. Note the time it took to destroy 3 cars, 1.15 minutes. The first vehicle was destroyed in about 38 seconds. The fire cannot be extinguished with water. No fire department will approach a burning battery powered car because of the toxic gasses produced during the fire. No recycling place will take the car's remains because of the toxic chemicals the batteries contain. You own it.

If you have a gasoline vehicle, don't park close to a charging station!

Not only the noxious fumes, but burning lithium temperature, upon contact with water could be explosive!

The problem is the battery will catch fire even when not charging!

Yup - remember the recent case of an eBike catching fire in a lift (certainly not charging) and the guy being burnt to death in the internal inferno?  What a way to go 😞

All this if not properly address, once mass adoption then we will start to see accidents happening. Hear the excuses there and then?

GO green, save the earth and die for a good cause.
