Steptronic Supercharged July 31, 2012 Share July 31, 2012 Have decided on the 528. Now only arguing with my wife on the colour Congrats - 528 is very good choice, I did not want to spend about 27k more for few more BHPs. PML increased every 5er by 11k on 23rd July. Even though I knew about this increase, I never thought I would book a bimmer again. Finally ended up paying more... As far as colour is concerned, my preference was White, after that, SophisGrey, then Black, finally the Havanna. All the very best. ↡ Advertisement

Hoppie24 1st Gear July 31, 2012 Share July 31, 2012 (edited) i take the 5 also, i like the A4/A5/A7 but not the A6. I would also consider GS250/350, it's very nice. You should go take a look. Lexus reliabilty confirm above all the choice you put here if that is an important factor, servicing is cheaper too. Kevinchan Neutral Newbie July 31, 2012 Share July 31, 2012 If you have to buy now RWD F10 520i (2.0T) is the preferred midsize sedan over FWD A6 2.0TFSI (2.0T) for drive, prestige and cost. If you need to burn some more money and: (1) is sensitive to engine smoothness, then FWD A6 2.8FSI (2.8 V6) is preferred. (2) needs a little more power, then RWD 528i (2.0T) is preferred. (3) needs a lot more power, then RWD 535i (3.0T I6) with a creamy I6 is preferred. (4) needs a lot more power but may mishandle the power, than AWD A6 3.0TFSI (3.0S V6) is preferred. If you can wait You may want to check out the following before deciding: (1) Facelift E200 CGI (1.6T), E220 CGI (2.0T) and E250 CGI (2.0T). (Q4 2012) (2) XF 2.0T and XF 3.0S. (Q4 2012) It seems like RWD W222 S-class (Q1 2013) will continue to be the preferred fullsize sedan here. I wonder how much will the new S250L CDI (2.1TD) cost? I also wonder if there will be a S250L CGI (2.0T) to compete with the upcoming facelift XJL 2.0T (will not be available in Singapore) which does 0-100km/h in 7.5s! Kiadaw 6th Gear July 31, 2012 Share July 31, 2012 don't ever heard that the BMW is reliable btw. been hearing quite a number of horror stories about them. You can say a lot about German cars, but they almost always have very robust engine, chasis & high speed stability. Most of their issue are non critical like electronics & such. A lot of people pick on these issues in Singapore, as we drove at such low speed, such consistent condition (always hot), & for such short time & distances (I mean, in Singapore, if you drive a car for more than 5 years, its consider long liao), that the critical parts of the cars are never really tested. Jenius81 1st Gear August 31, 2012 Share August 31, 2012 The A6 is a facelift bro. By comparision, the 5 series is a all new model. But anyway, can't go wrong with either, just pick th engine & spec of your choice. There is a good review on the new 5 series, after you watch it, you will want to go out & buy one (if you ar in the market for this class range), but unforunately, I can't link video as I am at work, & Youtube are ban. Maybe later. Bro the current a6 is not a face lift. It's a totally new model with more aluminium parts den the old a6.
