1fast1 Supersonic April 29, 2015 Share April 29, 2015 I had forgotten this thread existed. Let me bum everyone out with some sad news, because misery loves company. Who else remembers Mr Tan Kim Cheng? He taught me Geography and also PE. He was a real gentleman, somehow gave the feel of being of the "classic" generation of old-school English masters (even more so than Wijeysingha, somehow). He was a thoroughly decent man. Long after school, I had one more encounter with him when he was warded at NUH where I was a junior doctor at the time (we had a pleasant chat reminiscing about the old days). Anyway, I was very saddened when this news broke recently. Read in order: http://www.straitstimes.com/news/singapore/more-singapore-stories/story/former-ri-teacher-feared-dead-after-going-missing-tioman http://www.straitstimes.com/news/singapore/more-singapore-stories/story/former-ri-teacher-feared-dead-after-going-missing-tioman http://www.straitstimes.com/news/singapore/more-singapore-stories/story/former-ri-teacher-missing-tioman-police-find-body-201504 I know he's old, but even so, that's a terrible way to go. Not at all befitting a man of his gentle dignity. RIP Mr Tan. ↡ Advertisement
