Engine Stalling, what are possible issues?

While driving home earlier, i noticed my aircon was not cold.

When i was turning in my home carpark, the engine suddenly stalls and i have to crank a few times to restart it, after traveling into the multistory carpark, the engine stalls again while i am reversing into the carpark slot.

I also notice burning smell from my engine bay after i parked my car.

Anyone know what are the possible causes?? Thanks!

I had a similar problem recently, the car almost stalling when I do 3 point turn, especially when I turned my steering hard. A bit of googling suggested that loose battery terminals could be a cause, and I know they werent especially tight since I recently changed the battery myself without using tools to tighten the terminals, so I tightened the terminals with a wrench and problem hasnt occurred again so far.

Did you notice what's your water temperature then? it could be engine overheated due to air-con fan up lorry.

another possible cause are sticky throttle plate, mostly cause by engine oil vaporizing thru PCV value, this is getting really common now lately. (easy solution - disconnect your intake tube, spray throttle body cleaner into throttle plate, clean it and it's good to go).

Easy, start your car again, on air-con and see if the air-con & main fan is turning? if not, it's the fan up lorry liao.

Turbocharged

Sounds like an overheated and seized engine.

No point repairing, sweep it under the carpet and sell it as fast as you can.

If car keep stalling and there is burning smell from engine bay, it most probably means car engine has overheated. Stop cranking the engine or driving the car anymore. Once the engine has cooled down, check your radiator tank for water. If it is dry then get a tow truck and tow to your workshop.

Either you have a about to fail battery, a loose battery/alternaty or connection or a loose ignition coil/spark plug connector

Hypersonic

I remember i encountered such problem before, think it is due to some loose wire connection something.

With burning smell,

Might be overheated as some said, while something was burnt.

Check engine oil level as well as the coolant. Monitor your temperature gauge.

Even if you cooled down the engine and able to start, doesn't mean the problem is solved.

Bring to WS or call for tow.

Don't risk your car caught in flame.

There you go...could be same reason why previous owners sell it away to you.

Just need time at workshop to identify the problem. No choice....
