Shull Turbocharged June 22, 2012 Share June 22, 2012 (edited) Israel cheated. actually.. you just need the following formula.. (number of missiles each enemy plane can carry + 1) x number of enemy planes = number of planes you need Assuming your enemy has 100% missile kill ratio(best case scenario), by the time he runs out of missiles, there will be 1:1 ratio of enemy vs your plane.. but your plane still has missiles.... Vulcann 6th Gear June 22, 2012 Author Share June 22, 2012 (edited) Dude, that's why you will never become an air marshall. Who the hell have 2500 MIG-21s? If the enemy have 50 F-15s, then you buy something with a lower ratio like 1: 10. i.e MIG-23s. Then you only need 500 MIG-23s. Simple. I is brilliant Defence Strategist. I lagi smart, invest in this: Source: http://www.netmoon.com/starwars/ships/xwing.htm Got 4 laser guns and photon torpedoes and when situation critical still can cha bot to outer space. If you buy 500 MIG-23s and your enemy unveils the new F-22, do not go to war with them. If you really must, switch to IEDs. No air-force, no problem. If you really must, switch to IEDs. No air-force, no problem. Not too long ago and even till now, US forces are having a tough time facing RPG-7s... Now despite all the high-tech gear, IEDs were a nasty and effective counter strike tactic against western land forces. To think that these rudimentary but lethal roadside bombs were basically made up of arty or mortar rounds really makes one wonder if the asymmetrical warfare since ancient times so effective against superior forces will be something worth studying for conventional forces... Lala81 Hypersonic June 22, 2012 Share June 22, 2012 (edited) Actually I hated Top Gun and Iron Eagle. It is quite difficult to make a good movie about modern air combat. Not very exciting to start with. WWII was different. Memphis Belle was good. Tora Tora Tora? Though it featured the whole jap operation. Best WW2 movie ever. I like memphis belle too. No special effects, real planes flying! Edited June 22, 2012 by Lala81
Happily1986 5th Gear June 22, 2012 Share June 22, 2012 Bigger is not necessary better. It all depends on what you intend to shoot. What you intend to shoot is what your potential adversary has. If a smaller round does the job, then you can have more of it. See 5.56mm vs 7.62mm. and more so when the direct adversary was the Scorpion light tanks till the fellas up north decided to get T-90s
Happily1986 5th Gear June 22, 2012 Share June 22, 2012 Kirov? Yep badass battle cruiser. Always thought it would be interesting if ever there was a WWIII last time when a Iowa-class BB would slug it out with the Kirov... Lala81 Hypersonic June 22, 2012 Share June 22, 2012 If u ever seen what a 5.56 can do to naked flesh. don't ever doubt it. I've seen what it can do to a pig. Unless u're wearing heavy body armor like a turtle, a 5.56 will kill u just as good as a 7.62mm
