platform is like the same as most andriod phone i scared will get board of it

Netbook is like most laptops and desktops. you will get bored too.

For websurfing, tablet will be better as most will have better battery life than netbooks. They are also lighter and gives out less heat during usage.

iPad versus MBA

if you need physical keyboard = MBA

if you need compass/GPS = iPad

Both are light with long batt life. MBA boots up fast too. You can also put it in sleep mode and will wake up instantly when required. No risk of disk damage as it's using SSD.

feel like getting a tablet for my son, but i am not familar with all the plans that the telcos are having, can you guys help me out on this?

I intend to get a tablet with wifi + broadband( i guess i will get sumsung tab 7.0 small enough to fit into his sch bag)

I just let him surf a bit of net outside, social network etc...guess data cap will be around 5-10Gb a month.

the confusing part is there are tablet plans and broadband plans offered by the telcos, isnt it the same that the tablet operates the sameway as a handphone, i.e inserting a 3G sim card and connect to the network??

if so, can i just go challenger and get a tablet then go M1 to get a value broadband plan, thereafter insert the sim card into the tablet? since i am not using a laptop so no need the dongle from the telco right?

thanks.

i am not sure if a kid need online outside, they can always have it at home with wifi.

and if they are at school, i believe some school have free wifi and they can still access to the social network via smartphone.
