Anyone using basic GPS sports watch?

Something very basic, just gives total run distance / time, no need heart rates etc or download-function.

 

Something like the Soleus GPS 1.0

 

 

Apparently this model retails for about $180, cheaper than most other GPS watches (which have more functions though) and good for users just want to know distance/time only.

 

For about the same price, any better choice?

You need a GPS tracker. Will have to buy a SIM card for those. Or you can get your son an iPhone and use Find My Friends app I'm sure he'll be happy... very happy.

which means i have to carry hp while i jog , right? trying to run without hp

get a arm strap and run with iphone strap on your humerus la

I saw one before which is about 1/2 the size of our palm.

It's a must for me during a run, in case if anything happens, I can make a call or at least people can contact my NOK

U using iphone? Just use app runkeeper. Buy an arm strap that only cost $20-30.

 

Save the gps watch money. They are all in hundreds price range.

Running Measurements: Distance, Energy, Consumption, Average Pace and Number of Steps

 

So if u don't need gps location, this one for u

sounds logical!! but i carry id and contact number and there are people around, so NOK is contactable if i faint or something
