Voodooman Supersonic June 14, 2012 Share June 14, 2012 Holiday Inn Melaka is nice, modern with great view, love the mattress, very comfortable. If you are worried, best to stay home. Alternatively, stay at Equatorial, also a good class hotel (rooms are actually more cozy) and at a convenient location with basement parking that is barricaded. Your car can still be stolen but it probably minimises the risks as it is easier, relative to Equatorial, to steal from Holiday Inn's openly accessible car park. ↡ Advertisement
Expertz 1st Gear June 14, 2012 Share June 14, 2012 If you are worried, best to stay home. how you know TS got a home in melacca? then what about other people who want to visit melacca but don't have a home there? its expensive to buy a house over there just to visit the place once every 2 or 3 months! LOL, I meant stay in Singapore. Go holiday is to destress, not to add wrinkles to your forehead. I think if you have a home in Melaka, you can probably live with the risks, otherwise must take coach to visit Melaka house once every few months, I think about it also headache. Icebrush79 4th Gear June 15, 2012 Author Share June 15, 2012 Are you gotta park your car there during your whole stay? What about going from place to place? For this I think no one can guarantee you! Won't be driving out, just up to Holiday Inn and back to SIN... Drive out too much hassle I feel
Icebrush79 4th Gear June 15, 2012 Author Share June 15, 2012 Just returned on Monday from Holiday Inn. Went in 2 cars. Parked at the open air car park, no problem at all. Did use steering wheel lock though. Been to Holiday Inn like once a year, no problem parking there. No need to give guard any tips. Think at around 10 or 11pm, the guard will put a barrier gate at the entrance ramp going up to the open air car park and station himself there. He will move the gate to allow you to enter. Think when he sees Singapore car, he don't really check. Basement car park is also ok. But entrance to the lift lobby at basement closed from 11pm to 6/7am. Generally safe there. Best is you park your car at hotel, and walk to the shopping malls just across the road. No need to drive out. But do be careful when crossing the road in front of the hotel. Thanks for the feedback mate! appreciate it !
Icebrush79 4th Gear June 15, 2012 Author Share June 15, 2012 i had my car parked outside JPO along the main road last week and my window was smashed my guess is that there is not safe area to park, they will break your windows or your boot even if you parked along the main road best thing to do is to have a steering wheel lock + don't leave your valuables in your car for a type r best is to not have those gauges too, heard of stories from shc forum that they broke the windows and forcefully pulled out the gauges resulting in damaged dashboard the last time i drove up to malacca i was following an euro r and it was certainly powerful, i guess the drive up must be fun trilling and exciting. have a good drive up! Haha yalor, that's why I prefer driving up... can clear some carbon too while doing so
