Meaning when u insert the noozle into the tyre value, it shows the current pressure, den do you get to set the pressure you wish to pump ? Ditiang Neutral Newbie June 25, 2012 Author Share June 25, 2012 Petrol station most of them are digital type showing LCD number. For VIAIR 85P, this is not a digital pump and cannot set the pressure. This is how it works: When you insert the nozzle into the tyre, the meter will start to point at the tyre current PSI. If example now your PSI is 30PSI and you need it to go to 33PSI. 1) On the pump while you look at the meter. 2) when you on, the meter start to go up 3) When about to reach, switch it off and read the meter. 4) not enough pump again As for me, 2 sec it pump up 2PSI. Ditiang Neutral Newbie June 25, 2012 Author Share June 25, 2012 (edited) Yes I also did read the review of the fuse being blown. The reason is that people use it the wrong way. I came across a review at Amazon regarding about this. He also afraid of the fuse being blown. So he contact the VIAIR supplier about this. The answer from them is that you got to "ON" the engine 1st, then insert the socket into the 12V cigarette hole. After that you can turn on the pump. Once all 4 wheel pumped, turn off the pump, remove the socket from the 12V cigarette hole and off your engine. The reason of fuse blown is there are people insert the socket into the 12V cigarette hole then on the engine. One shot too many power rush into the socket and blown up the fuse. 5936 1st Gear June 25, 2012 Share June 25, 2012 Hi all, i would suggest using these portable air compressors for emergency situation only. For a very good reason that the air inflated is WET and over time you'll get water inside. And that leads to internal rim corrosion, to both steel and aluminium materials. My car came with a compressor too, it is useful when you encounter a slow leak. Just pump up and go for repair. Continental tyre developed such compressor too. All the cables and hoses concealed within the container. Came together with the leak seal liquid. I know they are available from Stamford tyres or YHI.
