The problem is most of these cyclist are also riders or drivers on the road.

Especially those ang-moh or high end bicycles rider/owner, I believe most own a car and pays road tax.

So it's sad to see some of them riding bicycle like they are still in their motorcycle or cars.

This video just proved that some day they will meet their makers. Truely dangerous and stupid!

that is a norm !!

there are replies on my previous post that such full-dressed cyclists need to maintain 30-40kph on the roads ... so if they stop, then they will lose momentum mah ...

anyone read the letter on ST forum today from the head of some cycling group ??

You may be aware that our climate/weather can be rather dehydrating to cyclists who cycle fast. Dehydration can cause hyponatremia. A few years back, one of them even went head-on with a bus (died on the spot). Although cycling is gaining popularity here, road safety awareness does not seems to be as popular yet.

You may be aware that many/most of the cyclists who are non-drivers, knows next to nothing abour road safety in accordance to the Highway Code. Some requested for dedicated bicycle lane because they are not able to cycle in an orderly manner.

To my knowledge most are non-drivers, so never heard of Highway Code or road safety, unless accident involved

How many do you know to arrive at such hypothesis? Your point of dehydration has to do with the helmet again right I suppose.

You may be aware that many/most bicycles these days comes with multiple gear ratios to entertain ascending hills, start-stop traffic conditions. Losing momentum means they are incompetent cyclists (failed to observe traffic flow and select the correct gear ratio). They can go for some cycling training or do indoor cycling instead [laugh]

but then again, u dont need to learn the highway code to know the meaning of red, amber and green light? isnt that common sense that red means stop? oops i forgot cyclists have got no brains and common sense and probably use their asses to think.

You may share the same observation after cycling for a few years (drive, but also cycle)

IMO the riders in this video should be drivers la. If not how to afford this kind of bikes. I think the first rider riding a pinarello Dogma based on color scheme and the shape of his fork. Sure know the highway code. Guess many of them just don't care.

You may be aware at that speed they cycled, can be having dehydration issue already [shakehead] (Knowledge of Highway Code not useful)

I do cycle and in NO way share your observation. Plucking a random number from the air is probably easier than cycling.
