Micarforum 1st Gear June 9, 2012 Share June 9, 2012 (edited) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Xw80fNNpCs Although the van did not move into the 1st lane initially and did not signal its intention to do so, I felt threatened, thus i slowed down. Then it still did not signal / move into 1st lane, thus i interpreted it as it has no intention to move into 1st lane, and I sped up. That's when it suddenly move into the 1st lane (simultaneously when it started to signal) and almost caused an accident. Notice how close it was to my car, and also to the black car in the 2nd lane infront of it. Also, in the first place, are such commercial vehicles allowed to travel on the 1st lane (not for over-taking)? As you can see, it continued on the 1st lane even though the 2nd land was clear after that, thus showing that it's not trying to use 1st lane for overtaking purposes only. Although not visible in the video, the driver in the van still dare to give a universal vulgar hand sign after making this reckless maneuver. How can I report this reckless act to the authority? Good-Carbuyer 1st Gear June 9, 2012 Share June 9, 2012 Somehow I believe the black SUV in Lane 3 that re-appear in Lane 2, has got to do with the van almost suddenly filtering from Lane 2 into Lane 1 where TS was driving. Typical of many/most black car/SUV unwilling to give way to others. TS slowing down offered opportunity for van to filtered into Lane 1?
SimonTan 2nd Gear June 9, 2012 Share June 9, 2012 Yup the Murano is the basterd one here. Seem like Murano might have cut into the lane of the van abruptly. The van has no choice but to swerve out to avoid the Murano! TS car is just a victim of two other playing car. But lucky never get accident.

The van has no choice but to swerve out to avoid the Murano! TS car is just a victim of two other playing car. But lucky never get accident. Both the Murano and the Van were sharing the filter lane, but i believe the filter lane was a single lane. The van moving onto lane 2 initially could have been because the Murano forced him to. Then he was forced onto lane 1 coz the Murano didnt want to drive behind the car and bike on lane 3...
Edwardthy 1st Gear June 9, 2012 Share June 9, 2012 nevermind who is the real culprit here. Just report the van. Charge him for using 1st lane on a 70kmh [email protected] [email protected]
Micarforum 1st Gear June 9, 2012 Author Share June 9, 2012 wow... thanks for offering another perspective of this. now when i relook at the video, the black car and the lorry seems to be changing lane at the same time, black car from lane 3 to 2, and lorry from lane 2 to 1. And it seems that the black car was changing lane recklessly too, look closely at lane 3's car appearing right after the black car and the van changed lanes. Alright, at least i am not so pissed with the van, it could just be forced by the black car to be reckless

Nzy Twincharged June 9, 2012 Share June 9, 2012 The Van driver is speeding. But it looks like its the black murano that caused him to swerve into your lane. I guess the universal signal is for the murano as well. Can see that before the van swerve into your lane there was no black murano infront of him. When he swerved into your lane suddenly got a black murano there. The black murano right signal also on. Most likely the murano signal and just swerve out nearly hitting the van. So the van swerve into your lane to avoid an accident and showed the universal hand sign to the murano. Not for you.
Kurtselva 2nd Gear June 9, 2012 Share June 9, 2012 (edited) I use this road very frequently..the lane 3 is actually a two lane merging together way before the chevron marking and further down the road, lane 3 exits the expreesway and only lane 2 and 1 goes on into the tunnel. So as lane 3 is a merger lane, the van driver was a Ba5tard for not giving way to Murano as the murano was ahead of him..and the murano had to change lane or he would end up exiting the expressway and his ego did not allow him to slow down and change lane behind the van as the latter initially did not give way to him. The van driver's ego was more and he did not want to brake for the murano resulting in a close call for TS. So bottom line, van driver at bigger fault for not wanting to give way to the Murano at the merging lane and ego came way into both drivers.. Vid Hypersonic June 9, 2012 Share June 9, 2012 Wow... the van took off like there is no tomorrow after cutting into lane 1. The murano suddenly cut into lane 2 so that's when the problem started.
