I buy enfa from this website (free delivery more than 200) or visit the store at sengkang fernvale. Most of the items are at least cheaper by 5 to 8 bucks. Checked the milk powder, same as NTUC.

Disclaimer: Im in no way associated with the shop. Just to share with fellow parents, esp daddies like me, who have to lug numerous cans of milk powder and diapers whenever there is a sale. Easy way out here, same product, cheaper and free delivery. More time for your cars. cheers :D

It's perfectly fine for you to do your best for the children.... No one fault you on that.... However, to chide others for buying from Msia is unnecessary.... What is incomprehensible to you doesn't mean it's the wrong thing to do....

I think it's wrong if parents are ngeow chee ngeow lan ...

save a few dollars and get jiuhooo milk

quite disgusting.. poor kids

Go ahead think whatever you want... no one will stop you.... Neither will those who buy will feel any guilt for it and it's NOT UP TO YOU to judge....

isnt NTUC suppose to be fair price especially wher basic necessities are concern

My thoughts exactly! if small provision shops can sell the exact same product at a lower price than NTUC, i think NTUC has failed! small provision shops dun enjoy economics of scales yet can sell cheaper than NTUC.

Are you sure the Malaysia one is made in Ireland?

extreme sure both made in Ireland. the only difference one tin ship to malaysia and one tin ship to Singapore( some distributor at HarbourFront).

I respect your last statement...

It's your kid.... own flesh and blood.. we give the best ! (as we can afford) but don't be like some Ngeow Ji Ngeow lan....

haiz... if your mentality is we give our best and zero risk, you should make sure you/ your wife continue to produce breast milk until your child is onto full solid food. even if have to quit job or go through surgery to improve milk supply or be on medication to continue producing breast milk, so be it. do it! if best for your child is your policy.

everybody want the best for own child. its just a matter of balancing between various factors, eg quality. safety, $ etc etc... therefore this discussion and sharing. nobody is ngeow ji ngeow lan. what if someone tells you/ your wife you completely fail as a parent cuz you cant produce breast milk! cannot produce nevermind, never import milk powder from USA/ Australia but buy only lousy Singapore milk! how come you so ngeow ji ngeow lan??? no end to these type of personal attack argument you see?

i find it amuzing... I will buy the best milk i can afford for my kids. I wont risk buying milk powder frm MY because you never know if the storekeeper "swap" the good with fake ones.

For a kid <2yr old, their main food is milk powder and mummy's milk ,if any, so i wont risk it.

If in the first place, we have concluded that the taste btw SG similac and MY similac is diff. Why dont just go for a cheaper milk brand in SG if you cannot afford similac ?

how did you come to this conclusion that cheaper milk brand in Singapore has more nutrients or "safer" than expensive malaysian brands? I take it you mean Singapore Friso vs Malaysia Similac. this is a very interesting statement. please share evidence if any. You may be helping lotsa forummers having another option.

There are still medical halls selling Singapore imported milk powder (still cheaper than NTUC by $5 - $8 depending on brand) if TS is worried about MY imported milk powder.

in my opinion, i think sg milk is "safer" than malaysian brands..

Not that it's got anything to do with brands and nutrients. It's just that i cant be sure that the melamine-powder has not landed in boleh land.. and been sold by despicable merchants there because of the "relax" law enforcement units there.. OF course, you may think i am overly worried.. but i just protecting children.

Yup i know thanks. and i know where these medical halls are and i still wonder why NTUC sell 15% more than small shops. i started the thread just for discussion only... cuz i find it very ridiculous that my wife keep saying buying Malaysia milk powder dangerous... little did i know there are more ridiculous things to be heard from this thread man... really cracked me up... "poison" lah... "cause cancer" lah... ngeow chee ngeow lan" lah... hahahaha....

Sometime medical hall does not get their items from the principle. They get from supermarket that has stockup when there is a big discount given to them from the principle. Also note that mediccal hall does not need to pay GST, so they can price it cheaper.

All of us love our children... I think in conclusion, its just that malaysia's reputation is bad... despite manufactured and sealed in same country, despite secured temper-proof seal despite selling in big international supermarkets like TESCO, despite all other logical proofs. If such proofs and facts were presented to us in the course of our work or using a scientific or business mind, we would normally conclude that it is safe, many (including my wife who is also a professional making decisions based on facts and logic everyday) still think it is unsafe cuz

1) it is "from malaysia".

2) it is for my kid

cheers!

psst.. btw, our kid drinking Singapore milk.. haha.. my wife use trump card to stop argument. :D

I probably agree with Jrage.

There is no right/wrong. The only thing i can say is that SG's regulatory framework is stricter and less likely to suffer from loopholes.

Anyway i've no time and inclination just to drive to JB to buy groceries. But there's nothing wrong in doing so!

This is more for peace of mind for myself. No scientific evidence or randomised controlled trial.
