seems like m1 is the one not announced if they following suit (personally i think they will eventually).

anyway, be warned if u are going to switch...m1's data speed sucks.. supposed to get 'up to' 7.2mbps but most of the time just 0.5 to less than 2mbps.

best i got so far in amk was only around 3mbps... and only once.

actually, its depends on area. I was wit Starhub for years until recently. Really cannot stand with their 3G availability, its not the matter of slow... its AVAILABILITY! . At my place in Yishun, Its so bad that I cant even do a speed test during peak hours! At some area, the speed is reasonable at 1Mbps+ but never went above 2Mbps before....complain to them for years but there is still no improvement.

In the end, terminate my line and went for M1 instead. After staying with M1 for the 3rd month, I have never encounter any problem with 3G, sometimes, I can get as low as 0.5Mbps but thats all I need, I only want to make sure that Im always connected to 3G.

How much data is 2GB huh?

Approximately how many web pages of MCF?

If purely web surfing, will never hit 1.gb.... it's the combination of YouTube, apps download, games, that will use most of data...

You are very easily taken in by what the telcos say.

Why is the telco slashing down to 2gb instead of 5-8gb?

Don't you find the answer obvious? 2gb very easy to bust the limit and they can start earning the revenues from there. Fix at 5-8gb, wat's the percentage of people that will bust it?

And even at 2gb limit, what makes you think that you'll get more speed. Everybody's billing cycle is different. People who want to use will still use. Just like COE is to contral traffic, yet the jams are still there. Gov increasing ERP just proves that the COE scheme isn't working.

It's rubbish that light users are subsidying heavy users. A 12gb user whether use little or full still pays the same amount. Will my telco refund me for the unused quota? The problem of congestion lies with their infrastructure. The telcos are moving towards 4G and hence they are unwilling to invest more on the current 3G infrastructure.

Up to you to believe it or not, when majority of the people move on to 4G, u'll face the same issue. The telcos are just using this as an excuse to boost their revenue.

isnt that mean light user paying for heavy user???

anyway they should separate the Data usage from standard phone plan. then base on each need, get the one with righ surf price. this is a fairer method.

For those that support the new reduction of data, if they lower the price or give other freebies except that 50sms, as I would support. But they are taking away stuff without giving you anything.

If bus/taxi/hawker center/Kopitiam, give you less for what you pay, I'm sure many of you would make noise.

The changes would affect all customers, and an increase in SMS will eventually be applied to all subscribers.

So more people will actually start using SMS more often.

Singtel's revised Flexi Value plan is now 3 GB and 900 SMS. The increase of 250 SMS is equivalent to $12.50.

Last time, my wife used to pay $10+ for international sms with her siblings.

Now, they every day chat using imessage, even send short video clips and all are .... FREE.

No wonder the telco red eyes.
