Actually, if you guys feel so strongly about it and are current customers of TQ then just send them an email saying you will no longer patronise them in the future unless they make changes.

Remember to quote your invoice number (or even scan it) so they will know that you are serious and they will actually lose customers (real customers, not just people on the internet looking to spam them).

You're right. The court order was merely to prevent SMRT Feedback from insulting her further. No requirement to reveal identity and issue apology. Trolling for page views again. YAWN.

Correct!!

Many ppl misread thinking SMRT Feedback will be forced to reveal identity, which is not true. They have an option to repeal the act by identifying themselves, make known whatever they did (before) wasn't a harassment, and continue the way they are - which they didn't. So they just guai guai abide to the act/rule/law upon them, and at the same time troll the public.

Haha. He who trolls and runs away, lives to troll another day.

Looking forward to brand new TRMS (feedback) a while down the road. :D

Nitpick ---

If they wanted to contest the order they had to reveal their identities. Not sure exactly how right that is but there you go.

They decided not to do that...

But they are my heroes still...I am waiting for part 2 now...

How to have part 2 since they decided NOT to contest/repeal the act. Which means they agree to abide the harassment act to stop talking abt xiaxue.

Well, they did say that "stating/posting the truth" is not considered as harassment, which i think is rightly so.

I also think is rightly so, truth is the truth. Then SMRT Feedback should CONTEST/REPEAL the harassment act.

If they want to contest, then they must reveal themselves to the public, which they don't want.

But but but.. they can stay anonymous, and still post about facts on XX which may not constitute as harassment. [rolleyes]

Telco M1 and StarHub are asking the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) to look into allegations that bloggers were asked to complain about their services.

M1's spokesman Chua Hian Hou said: "Such practices are unethical and we intend to seek clarification with the relevant operator on this matter. We will also request IDA to look into this... and will explore further action if necessary."

StarHub's chief marketing officer Jeannie Ong said that it was "deeply disturbed" by the tactics employed and the possible damage to its brand.

These allegations came to light on Saturday when blogger Xiaxue, whose real name is Wendy Cheng, put up "leaked" documents allegedly issued by social media marketing firm Gushcloud to the bloggers it represents. One directive in the alleged document asks bloggers to complain about the services of other telcos as part of a promotion strategy for Singtel's youth plan.

A Singtel spokesman said Gushcloud was one of the digital agencies it used in June last year for its campaigns but it did not issue the brief.

"It is Singtel's policy to focus on the strengths and differentiators when marketing our products and services. It is not our practice to run negative campaigns against any individual or organisation," she said.

Gushcloud co-founder Althea Lim, 30, told The Straits Times that it is currently investigating the matter and would not comment further. In a Facebook post on Saturday, Gushcloud wrote: "The publicly posted brief was an internal brief prepared by Gushcloud for its influencers. The brief is not meant to be read in isolation without the full context and verbal briefings given by Gushcloud."

When contacted, IDA said it is aware of the matter and that operators should abide by the Singapore Code of Advertising Practice, which states that all advertisements should be legal, decent, honest and truthful, and should not unfairly attack or discredit other products or organisations.

"In the spirit of fair competition, IDA has always encouraged our licensees to focus on promoting the availability, price and quality of their own services or equipment, and refrain from negative campaigns against their competitors. This will allow end-users to make informed choices," it said.

actually, it seems more likely gushcloud did indeed do as per their brief, as they issued a statement saying that the brief was to be taken into context with a verbal brief as well (yeah right ... i have worked with a company that issues briefs [ pun not intended ] and while briefs are guidelines, you aren't supposed to deviate too far from them)

whatever xx is or says, you got to give her some credit for having the balls to shake up this industry. a lot of tweens etc would be blindly listening to these "influencers" (as they are rightly called) and then making poor choices.

the internet is serious business!

I think XX had issues with gushcloud. Once she knew it was from them, it was her chance for revenge.

Problem is - more at fault than Gushcloud is StinkTel.

So damn blardy unethical -

and also so stupid to commit it to paper. If you really want to do such things then you do either one of two things

a) Make sure that it is factual

b) Keep it all verbal so that you have deniability

But in anycase - I have never believed in negative marketing, you win by putting yourself forward, not by pulling others back
