Disagree. It will always JBJ for me

JBJ is good but too impetutous. Before he can actually do anything to expand the party, he gets bankrupted before he can do anything. I mean most of the lawsuits against him wasn't justified but his impetutous ways gave PAP the opportunity to use lawsuits to stifle his challenge. And when you get a Secretary General who keeps getting into trouble, its just going to get difficult for the party to grow bigger. [laugh]

actually PM's last min apology during last GE may have helped prevented the loss of Joo Chiat. With them winning by only over 200 votes, it is possible that his apology helped to soften the stance of some voters against them as a whole.

True, I mean I do agree in the end majority of these people would still vote for ruling party. But a point I wish to highlight is that in the past all civil servants (civil servants have always been the group of people who are known not to"cut the hands that fed them" similar to the example you quote abv) are thought to have voted for the ruling party in every election. However, in recent times esp the 2011 GE, there was an upsurge of a number of civil servants who have voted otherwise. I have quite a number of friends who worked as civil servants. Way before 2006, I have never for once heard unhappy comments made by them towards the govt. But in last GE, this group of people told me to my surprise that they going to vote for opposition. So, my point is, when the govt screw up badly enough, it is still possible for them to turn off a number of people who is always known to show their unwavering support for the govt. -_-

+1. they claimed to be A-team's credit for the solutions we forwarded over the years.

TCH just like GCT singlehandedly kill their their hopes of winning Hougang.

they don't know how underlined they are.

Some people may not be aware that the PM already condemed themselves to be potential corrupted Minsiters/MPs if not patid high salary. How to question the intergrity of their opposition? [laugh]

I respect the choice of Hougang voters. The PAP will continue to be present in Hougang, and I am confident that we will win back the constituency in a future election.

FAT HOPE.

TAN KU KU - TEO CHEW SAY

You will lose even if you as a PM, when u contest Hougang.

HUAT AHHHH....................................

Let see who u will send in 2016.

TCH questioned if WP sent in their best man for Hougang, whether or not Png is the best man, he won.

So did P*P sent in their best man? Or just dump someone there and hope for some good luck justl ike in Potong Pasir?

I think this question would be best answered in the next GE, see who are the best men they're going to throw into Aljunied. Will they put in small fries or some other heavyweights and risk losing.

+1. PM already said his Ministers/MPs can be corrupted if not paid high salary (so he alert us his best man can be corrupted calibre). [laugh]

Definitely, the apology worked.

200 votes were likely to have come from the aunties and uncles in Joo Chiat, still undecided at that point of time.

i thought tpl was planted in his grc, to lower his vote count, so that his position as party elder no.2 can be discounted?

Meaning PAP got many in-fighting parties within?

Just watch TCH been interviewed on the Ch 5 news, he denied 'character assassination',

That he merely 'asked a simple question'.

tch is getting lame..... and he's our dpm!!!

Ruling party should seriously reflect on themselves and ask why the big difference in spirit and atmosphere between the 2 camps... The HG spirit has spread to Aljunied... such spirit is what all about for a country and community. I think there is already a solution to improve national cohesiveness... Just have by-elections every 6 months for every SMC..

I believe you may be aware that is the way the ruling party demonstrates problem-avoiding-people mindset
