Depends on how thick it is, I'd use polish compound carefully, if WD40 can't get it off.

You need to use industrial acetone. And it's not 100% off, you need to do it very slowly and carefully.

Eyh, don't give this kind of advice, sandpaper, might as well burn the whole paint.

Dab nail polish remover on a cotton swab and wipe.

Comes off instantly.

Been there done that.

 

And no, it does not remove clear coat. But apply some wax over the area after that cos it does remove wax.
