I keep getting dropped signal from 3G to 2G, which my mobile apps like Facebook would hang.

Are there ways or devices to boost this signal?

Which phone u using? Why signal drop well cause Facebook hang?... Anyway, signal strength depends on phone model also. Like when I used my desire last time, I wont have signal or bery signal inside a koufu but after I changed to moto razr, I can surf but my othets colleagues still face weak signal there....

Galaxy note on Singtel. When I tested at the same location with a Iphone using the same sim card, never had that problem. With Galaxy note, not only FB hang, other apps like Youtube, Speed Test, Dolphin Browser also hang.

You would want H+ over 3G. It seems locally that data transmission occurs over H+ or HSDPA and H (not to be confused with H+) as well as 3G are simply modulated frequency bands where idle users are temporarily housed.

Don't believe me? The next time you use your phone assuming the signal coverage is not spotty, you will notice the signal falling to 3G or H when your phone becomes idle e.g. your browser is not actively receiving or sending data packets. Once you press refresh however, your will notice the 3G or H arrow uplink lit up implying data packets sent to cell tower. Your data signal should be upgraded to H+ after that.

Ok, I didn't know H+ is actually HSDPA, so I thought H+ was 2G network; that tiny "circle icon" found in Iphone.

I had the impression that HSDPA is only available for AT&T network, hence in some of the phone reviews, Android phones were much faster than other phones.

But apps like Whatsapps don't have refresh icon, so I press Facebook's refresh icon to activate H+??

Yes, as some of the reviews show, the H+ or HSDPA are supposed to be faster than 3G, but mine hangs and the error message is "no network connection". But when it switch back to 3G, all the apps, like FB, Whatsapps, Youtube are working again.

these apps will do polling at certain intervals so you need not worry about refreshing. so long connection is sound, messages will come through.

seems to be the "mobile access settings" is wrong. you have to bring the phone to your service provider to check on the proper settings.

Most of the time, even after clicking the refresh icon, I get this error, be it FB, youtube, Dolphin Browser etc. But some times, the apps doesn't hang even when the signal shows H+. I thought the problem could be my SIM card, but, I didn't get the error when transferred the same SIM card to my Iphone.
