No air bags in the old crown, because it does not comes with in in the initial design.

There is a difference when one purposely opt out the air bag, just to save cost.

It seems that in Singapore traffic law, air bags is not mandatory.

But in many parts of the world, airbags safety is mandatory.

Also many manufacturers built cars with air bags as standard nowadays. To remove the Airbag, is like special request to remove it!!

Right or wrong......as long as its not against any law, profitability is more important for some.

standard airbags at steering wheel and dashboard will only activate when there is an sufficient impact at front.

if the impact is from side, airbag won't activate.

Comfort sonata taxis have a lot features removed from the original version.

There are only 2 sonata taxis with full features such as leather seats, airbags, digital climatic aircon and fog lights. These 2 units were introduced in 2006 and were used for trial purposes, before Comfortdelgro decide to buy the stripped down version in 2007, no leather seats, no airbag, manual aircon control, no fog light.

taxis here can only ply the roads for 7 years only, thats why Comfort dun see the need to install airbag?

Old tyres...oh no! Very dangerous. Seems like irresponsible to endanger everyone's safety!

The passengers life also important.....especially rain or wet roads!

Still depends on where the car hit. Nearer to the dashboard(IIHS Side Impact)(some cars did deploy upon impact). There isn't if the moving car struck the B pillars(Side bags yes).

Twincharged

Even if got airbag most probably only driver or driver and passenger seat only. Side sure don't have ma. So doesn't make a difference to most ppl who take taxi. Unless you like to sit infront. If not the airbag won't help you also. lol.

What I read is that comfort delgro is the ONLY cab company that does not fit airbags. The other smaller cab companies have airbags in some of their cabs.

Isn't comfort charging the highest rental and costs to the cabbies? Then why they are not even on par with the other cab companies?

Are they short changing?

air bags is a must..even side impact also can survive..in this case, the driver's head will be thrown inwards at impact and the air bag could have prevented his head from slamming back onto the side.

2nd gen Wish has all sides SRS as standard feature.

Any one can confirm if these are omitted in our cab fleet?

Passenger car and taxi will have different configuration.... it depend how much the taxi company willing to pay too...just like sonata... passenger car got airbags but taxi come without to make the price cheaper to the Company...
