Watwheels Supersonic May 15, 2012 Share May 15, 2012 I will try to avoid traveling to that accident prone traffic junction. Where the Ferrari is traveling the two traffic lights are too close to each other. With so much construction going on around that area the line of sight is totally obscure by those zinc platings/fences. Even from the newspaper report that same spot has 6 accidents in 12 days. Best avoid especially past midnight when all the drunks & chiongsters come out. ↡ Advertisement
JackRabbit 3rd Gear May 15, 2012 Share May 15, 2012 but help me to understand this. if he not drunk, but as a driver, he should know there is trafflic junction coming up and there might be cars there, why wouldn't anyone with a bit of sense as a driver to drive fast but slow down the car when near the junction in case there are cars coming even if you want to beat the red light?? so far I cannot think of a logical explanation why he want to do that if he isn't drunk actually ... just a few metres before this traffic junction, is the infamous bugis village to bugis junction pedestrian crossing. If the ferrari was already driving at that speed, and hit that pedestrian crossing when people crossing... but because it was 4am, probably few or no pedestrians...but if some one had been crossing... Turbonetics 2nd Gear May 15, 2012 Share May 15, 2012 Although speed of sound is at 340m/s, however the green light is on for 5-6 seconds and during this period plus amber light, it should have given people ample time to break. Taxi check first, like what the other said here, you don't wait for 6 seconds to check. Even your theory test don't teach you to wait for 6 seconds. you will get honk instead. iam not asking the taxi driver to wait for a few seconds before moving off. the Ferrari came from his left side which means he had already drove past the mid junction. what iam trying to say is that if the taxi driver had been more aware and keep a look out on both side,he might have avoided the accident and let the "Bai Chi" i mean Ma Chi hit the tree further ahead. i know that alot of times drivers including myself just take things for granted. after this incident,i hope everybody has learnt to be more careful especially at junctions. my sympathy goes out the the taxi driver and its passenger because they are really innocent parties. Felipe 3rd Gear May 15, 2012 Share May 15, 2012 No one could survive such a crash unless the passenger wear ironman suite! From this incident, we could also see the income gap between the rich and commoner. The ferari cost SGD1.8 million, stays in 3 millions condo. The taxi driver is a thrifty guy working hard to feed his 3 kids. I really think the family of the ferrari driver should come out and apologize to the victims and at least compensate them. But so sad, they seems dont give a damn abt the victimz according to the news No need iron suit. F1 car with driver shd b able to survive. But f1 cars are not road cars. Maybe for a moment, he thought he was racing on a track.

Felipe 3rd Gear May 15, 2012 Share May 15, 2012 One could have got hit at the 3rd second, 7th second or any other moment, even if you did your safety checks, does it matter? Can hear the roar of the GTO. so what? Can you ascertain which direction or distance from which the GTO is coming from?? Life's like that. We ride our luck sometimes. Just drive extra safe now we got chinaporeans driving here. I know we shdnt get angry with prc. But the anger stems from something deeper. If this happened 20 yrs ago, the emotion wud b diferent
Flykite Clutched May 15, 2012 Author Share May 15, 2012 actually ... just a few metres before this traffic junction, is the infamous bugis village to bugis junction pedestrian crossing. If the ferrari was already driving at that speed, and hit that pedestrian crossing when people crossing... but because it was 4am, probably few or no pedestrians...but if some one had been crossing... according to eyewitnesses some people were walking beside the mrt station just a few minutes before the langa.. its just pure luck that no one was along the pavement when it happened. another postulation that because it happened at 4.15am, few people will be there. Turbonetics 2nd Gear May 15, 2012 Share May 15, 2012 Dude, the red light was already "on" for a couple of seconds which means the ferrari didn't beat the red light. Rather, he blatently ignore the red light. So how is the cab driver gonna check? Wait for a minute before driving off? after watching the video,i thought of some possibilities. 1.he wanted to commit suicide. 2.he was driving so fast that he might have overlook on the redlight and may have looked at the traffic light further up. 3.drink driving. 4.too horny to fuk the china girl and rushing to hotel. Watch the video & if it's validated & true (without any fast forward), the speed of the ferrari is unimaginable...time frame 0:20 (headlight appearing on the left) to 0:21 (taxi seen flying) ....no chance to even check when it's coming at that speed! Count-Bracula Twincharged May 15, 2012 Share May 15, 2012 He spoilt the Kangtao for the richie rich, to use the excuse of going out at night to Test drive Car. Now all the rich tai tai, knows the REAL meaning when their hubby claimed to go out at night to test drive their performance cars. The sport cars owners now must find new excuses Liao. Your number will be up very soon. I suspect this isn't the 1st time he beat red lights during his habit of night driving. Was he racing with another cheongster that Sat morning? Bystander50 5th Gear May 15, 2012 Share May 15, 2012 Tuesday, May 15, 2012 my paper Gerard Ee rejects call for curbs on fast cars By Ethan Lou MR GERARD Ee, chairman of the Public Transport Council, has rejected calls for tougher restrictions on high-performance sports cars following the fatal three-vehicle collision in Bugis involving a Ferrari. Instead, he blamed reckless drivers and not fast cars.

Felipe 3rd Gear May 15, 2012 Share May 15, 2012 (edited) Why are all the news report quoting the number of accidents happening there in the past 2 weeks? How are these accidents related to this one? The other crashes are probably due to carelessness or beating red light at normal speeds. In this case, the PRC trash driver is ignoring the red light and dashing across at high speeds. This is definitely not the case for the other accidents that happened. The media is definitely trying to protray this junction as one that is "accident prone" so that this PRC trash has an excuse to get off lightly. If this road is badly designed, then LTA should be dragged into the picture since they failed to ensure the road is designed according to "International Standards". I guess the news did NOT add that NO ONE died from the other crashes. Typical of ....news Edited May 15, 2012 by Felipe ↡ Advertisement
