u will be surprised at the pay of smrt staff.....an assistant engineer pay is about 1.6k

She is too focused on KPIs and targets. If your company is meeting maintenance targets and things keep breaking down, then one ought to ask whether the targets are stringent enough, are they updated, are we looking at the right areas, etc.

I dun see the logic of lta using taxpayer's money to help a public listed company that can go to mkt to raise funds unless smrt will payback with interest like what they did in USA when the fed bail out some companies!

Throughout the whole incidence she was unrepentant and haughty. Believing that she did no wrong as she delivered on the profits for the board and shareholders. Perhaps if there were a casualty or two or worse maybe people being burnt to death in one of the trapped cabins from the two major breakdowns then maybe things will take a different turn. I am sure she feel that the public and the regulators are on a witch hunt, nit picking and being a bloody nuisance. Then again, when you are rich and connected way up there I guess the rest of the people are just a necessary evil in your books and definitely expendable.

She is saying screw you people, LTA is stupid enough to keep maintenance standards same all these years despite higher ridership and aging system, too bad. What's more, you people wanted to increase train frequency stressing the system further, what to do, you Singaporeans deserve it.

I believe that is what a new Technician should be paid. Of course, in some industry call their Apprentices: Engineers

i always believe public transport should not be run by private company.

same principles with public roads, public housing, utilities, whatever things matter to main public use.
