I was wondering if anyone try sending your car to authorise service center in Malaysia for the brand you driving...I was checking on Ford which is what I am driving right now...labour to change timing belt...water pump etc is MYR365!!! Our local neighbourhood workshop is already charging like SGD250(=MYR600)....

For those who think I am cheapo....yes....i admit....for those who say why bother for that little saving....yes its matters to me...for those who want to say then I should not drive....yes i am trying to....

Ok...it is a serious topic...pls share if anyone had done before.... :D

Neutral Newbie

Honestly I'll do it if the savings is that much... Plus can go pump petrol + buy groceries also...

Don't think AD will chop you...

I had a problem with my toyota vios in Jaybee. Called the AD up for help, they refuse to help and told me that they only serve those bought from them. I think is fair but a flat no at times of desperation leaves a very bad sour taste.

I've done it before with my car. Definitely a lot cheaper and it uses the same tracking chart as the AD in Singapore

Yes... i am not even doing servicing. my car went into CEL mode and was limping at 5km/h on failsafe. end up have to tow back to singapore for sgd300.

after this incident, i bought scangauage to get the CEL code if it happens again. touch wood-so far okay.

time to change timing belt...warranty void or not void does not really matter much anymore... [:p] cost is one thing...but the most important factor is I don't trust them...so since xxx do rubbish job at ex ex ex $$$...i might as well go for the cheaper even if it turn out rubbish...it is still cheaper!!!! :D

you can just drive to the KIA AD in JB and ask them directly...like what I did just now...but hoping bros here who have done it will like to share their experience if any...cause to me...as long as they are familiar with the made...singapore and malaysia no difference...only difference is their cost lower because they have lower overhead...here...the AD carrot us...then the land lord carrot the AD...we are the ultimate sufferinggggg....

I did a major servicing once and some repair work on the engine ignition cables and the total bill was about rm900, it is definitely cheaper than doing it at C&C. That was more than 10 yrs ago when I was driving a KIA mentor.

I have 2 friends who drive a Sonata and a Trajet. They both have their cars serviced at Hyundai AD at JB. They can even make warranty claims for parts and labour for during their warranty for their cars. There are substantial savings after warranty so they are still having their cars serviced there.
