See how he handled NK, Okinawa, Iran, and at the same time effected regime changes in Middle East without US troops. None of the previous Presidents could do that. They mostly threatened with and deployed their military to meet their objectives. Obama used diplomacy, sanctions, UN and allies. Its a stark difference. I think we have different views and opinions. Best foreign policy? Time will tell if his policies really work..... ↡ Advertisement

The main function of the SS is to protect the US President and the men and women are to die for the president i.e. block bullets if necessary. Quite interesting to hear ex-SS agents talked about their work last time. Their presidential convoy when on the roads machiam a freight train from front to the rear with many types of vehicles: recce, presidential limousine (x2), escort, protection, medical, HAZMAT, EM jamming, etc. just to protect the most powerful man on earth. And the armoured limousine nicknamed Beast for the Prez weighs a staggering 7 tonnes! It was reported in the show that the Beast can withstand up to 50-cal HMG rounds. It even has a separate oxygen supply in the event of a chemical/biological attack. Yup, SS agents will block bullets for the President. Those who joined SS has to be mentally prepared every day that they may not get to go home see family.

You might be surprised, actually americans in general, especially those of their 'heartlanders', are more comfortable with presidents who are LESS intellectual / educated. They feel that people who are too intellectual or educated have little connection with them. Example, bush jr is not the greatest low-benchmark person to be popularly supported and elected. There are even lower ones like sarah palin can actually attract quite a great following!

I find that he is too soft in some of his approaches toward certain issues. more hawkish? Like Bush was more "hawkish" with the s--t he left behind? And don't dismiss Obama's balls - remember he is the one who "got" OBL when it was Romney who said that he wasn't worth it. Obama has struck a really good balance between diplomacy and being hard where he needs to. Much better than the "war of civilisations" and the "god told me" of Bush... There are even lower ones like sarah palin can actually attract quite a great following! Which is why I worry. American voters also seem to fall for catchphrases easily. In 2008, they took issue with Obama wanting to "Spread the wealth". Why this is a bad thing I don't understand. Even more mysterious is why low pay red necks who would benefit from such a thing are against such an idea. Sometimes I wonder why McCain chose Palin. Was he trying to kelong?
