Obama's foreign policy is one of the best in recent years. See how he handled NK, Okinawa, Iran, and at the same time effected regime changes in Middle East without US troops.

 

None of the previous Presidents could do that. They mostly threatened with and deployed their military to meet their objectives.

 

Obama used diplomacy, sanctions, UN and allies. Its a stark difference.

 

I think we have different views and opinions.

The main function of the SS is to protect the US President and the men and women are to die for the president i.e. block bullets if necessary.

Yup, SS agents will block bullets for the President.

 

Those who joined SS has to be mentally prepared every day that they may not get to go home see family.

You might be surprised, actually americans in general, especially those of their 'heartlanders', are more comfortable with presidents who are LESS intellectual / educated. They feel that people who are too intellectual or educated have little connection with them.

 

Example, bush jr is not the greatest low-benchmark person to be popularly supported and elected. There are even lower ones like sarah palin can actually attract quite a great following!

Obama has struck a really good balance between diplomacy and being hard where he needs to.

Which is why I worry. American voters also seem to fall for catchphrases easily. In 2008, they took issue with Obama wanting to "Spread the wealth". Why this is a bad thing I don't understand. Even more mysterious is why low pay red necks who would benefit from such a thing are against such an idea.

 

Sometimes I wonder why McCain chose Palin. Was he trying to kelong?

Basically GWB set the bar pretty damn low.. If not for the term limit, I think US will be far better off with Bill Clinton doing his 3rd term. Even now, his wife is doing a pretty good job as Sec of State..

While I don't deny that Bush created a huge mess, being "hawkish" does not mean that the President got to create a mess or s--t....like GWB.
