PIE Near accident caused by Comfort Cab SHA2356K

Just now was driving my colleague back home when met with a joker cab driver. Lucky my colleague prompted me, if not i would not be here telling tales.

 

Near accident happened on:

 

Date: 04 May 2012, Friday

Time: 9.12pm

Location: PIE towards Changi leading to Sims Drive exit

Culprit: Comfort Blue Cab SHA 2356 K

 

 

Anyone can advise if i could send this clip to TP & Comfort Delcro and what is the procedure like?

 

This joker really make my day. Tomorrow is Vesak Day some more.

 

You should have anticipated it. Not as if the taxi just swerve into your lane without signaling. Whats your speed? The speed limit is only 50km/hour

Taxi is obviously wrong. One should not expect a car to cross the chevron markings, like a pedestrian should not expect a car to reverse at high speed and kill her from the other direction. No need TP, just call the taxi company to complain can liao. Will teach him not to repeat again BUT dont take away his rice bowl.

 

for example at a zebra crossing, a car is stopped and ppl crossing, but other side, a car just speed pass and the pedestrian have to do some 'defensive' maneuvers to to be killed. How about it now? (BTW many time cars just zoom pass zebra crossing cause the pedestrian have not reached their part yet. Few times saw ppl suddenly run across or bicycles ride across, almost kena hit....they assume all OK liao, cars waiting and ppl crossing so safe)

The attitude got to change. Whistle blowers or responsible road user. The line is very fine. While we are concern about his ability to feed his family (assuming he has one to begin with), he should be more concern about that than anyone of us here. There are other jobs available other than taxi driver. It is not the end of employment opportunity for him.

 

Unless he is booked under "Reckless or dangerous driving" which carries a 24 demerit points, he would not lose his license immediately. Other lesser offences includes Driving without due care or reasonable consideration for other road users (9pts), Careless driving (6pts). If he has to lose his license because he has existing de-merit points, then he should be suspended temporarily for the good of himself and other road users.

 

It is up to every individual to decide if he wants to report to the authorities because he is the affected party in question.

TS, before u send the clip to the relevant authorities did u consider that the taxi driver is just making a living on the road and he has family that depends on him to survive? If u are experienced enough, u should know that anything can happen on the road. Especially so when a taxi is just beside u or in another far far lane they can just cut in front of u to take passenger. Furthermore the taxi already signalled. He could be under the pressure of the passenger.

Yes its true that he may want to cut and go behind you but the way the video shows, your speed is slow enough for any car to cut in front of you. The fact that you have time to horn him means there is enough time and space for the taxi cut into your lane. U also said that your friend alerted you. Why should your friend alert you if u are concentrating on the road? Meaning you are doing something and not fully concentrating while driving?

 

It shows a lot about your character just on this incident alone. What goes around comes around. 砸他饭碗有如杀他父母. I hope your god and your ancestors will bless u with another few days of good luck.

 

U just have not meet your match yet. 这宇宙万物。一物克一物，万物相克。不是不报只是时辰未到。Just be careful when you go outdoor next time.
