Hi my friends, I was reading through some stuff and got confused, hopefully some brothers here can clarify for me.

1)In the event of an accident that is 70/30 or 80/20 in favour, is it better to claim OD or 3rd party?

2)Was told if don't claim OD, after 14 days cannot claim liao. Does that mean if cost to fix is low e.g. $800 and excess is high e.g. $600, claim 3rd party better?

3)The only reason to claim OD first is to fix car fast, other than that if car can still be driven, go for 3rd party better?

4)OD will affect NCD and premium or either one only?

5)Any other tips on claim OD or 3rd party

Thanks guys, appreciate it!

1) claim third party. Claim OD, you may not be able to claim back.

2) if not your fault, claim 3rd party. If your fault, 800 vs 600. Pay 600 in case next year they load up your premium.

3) yes. Claim OD faster. If can drive, put up third party and wait. Chase them if necessary.

4) OD only affect your NCD.

5) what tips you want? Claim OD don't claim too much. Claim third party, find a reasonable workshop. Don't over claim else jack up insurance of innocent party.

Actually according to book, it should be a 100/0 favor case but in case meet with liars that roti prata. So in summary;-

1) Can win 70/30, 80/20, 90/10 or 100/0 should just claim 3rd party and car can still be driven

2) For losing party just do OD

Is that right?

Yes. If small amount, negotiate for private settlement.

The other party at fault that is unwilling. Was pretty rude to me when I was reasoning with him. I have no choice but to claim him.
