so if a FT who paid 50% more for his COE sells his car, will he be restricted to selling to another FT?

doesn't it seem stupid?

He can sell to anyone.

1. FT can only ride bicycle but must pay full 2xCOE price! Cos other COE is used to pay for citizen's COE! [laugh] .

2. If Q for toilet, FT comes last & must do in plastic bag if cannot tahan .

3. FT also only allowed to go to Mall's on off peak periods of 9am-10.30am & not allowed to go PC show!

4. FT can only rent HDB flat. Cannot buy any property.

5. FT can only work those job like kenasai types & will bow when a citizen passes by.( like citizens bow to japanese in war time) . Level of bow is 90%. Any less will be punished by Law!

6. FT can only use their designated GP private doctors separate from normal doctors lest there is cross contamination. FT should go home for their procedures so as not to crowd the highly subsidised health system/hospitals.

7. FT can only use 1 liter of water to shower a day cos water is precious resources.

8. The best if all FT dont come SG and stay in their homeland unless as short termed tourist where they will be welcomed with open arms.

I don't know why no one suggested this..

Since we have low birthrate... couples having 3 or more children can free/discounted COE...

kill many many birds with one stone...

the 50% is tax so Garment keep in pocket. Heard of Open Cat COE ?

If you got $50k COE and Cat B is $1 you get nothing...

Neutral Newbie

A reader suggested citizens be given some priority in COE biddings. Something like:-

Cats A, B be reserved for citizens only

In addition to his suggestion, Maybe non-citizens be made to pay 50% more then the COE price citizens pay? Any use of proxy ie non-citizens caught using citizens' name to bid will be heavily fined and banned from buying car!

The above still allows the use of COEs to control car population, at the same time differentiate between citizens and non-citizens. Similar to recent MOE's new methods for allocation of places in schools. LTA may end up collecting more COE money thru the 50% surcharge!

i dunno if that reader even have any statistics before coming out with such idea, maybe the road user , 90% is actually Singaporean? The reason of COE is to control car population. How about separate the coe between local and non local quota.. See will get back fired or not.

Everyone should bid their own COE rather than let dealer bid on behalf of them. This way the price will then be comfortable on the bidder.

i don't understand why the cure for congested road must always be reducing cars and not expanding roads ???

if our gov is still so shortsighted, then 50 years from now, i guess COE will hit $1 million.

Haha thats the way they want it. 1 mil COE for them = Profit max $$$

Why spend money to expand road when you can earn money by limiting the cars. They are killing 2 birds with one stone. Solve Jam issue and solve money issues.

Which to us driver is = [furious] [furious] [furious]

It might help abit but still, there are alot who can afford the car even if it is full cash COE. Just walk pass a young chap in early 20's (maybe not even 20) and his already driving a Z4. Rich parents can anytime fork out the 90K whitout any issues. Some people can already pay 80k COV for a HDB why not 90k for a COE?

Citizen pay cheaper COE? OK! [thumbsup]

ERP should be same rate la.

Later tigershark comes after you. LOL

My 2 cents, No subsidy for cars and COE unless you can prove that your life depends on it. People should not feel they are entitled to a cheap COE becoz they have more kids. I am for high ERP and no COE as I don't really clog up the roads much, those who use more should pay more.

No loan for cars, I am sure COE will fall to 20k. My guess is more than 70% of cars on our roads are financed by bank loans.

On top of COE, may i suggest that any foreigner women who landed to SG should be fu(keble by any SG man and all foreigner can be torture by singaporean anytime, any place? Also, tax them 90% income tax, then curfew them, only allow them to be on the street for a certain hour... bann foreigner from using our facilities...... limit the space foreigner could use for accomodation, eg, a small room not more than 2' width x 6' long x 2' height? like that enough boh??

pls stop all the noncense lah.... really cannot stand... cannot affort car/ condo, then blame here blame there... haiz... why not work harder instead of kpkb online? i seriously felt that singaporean is behaving more like certain race in our neighbour country nowadays... no money to buy things they want, instead of work harder, expect money to drop from the sky... money never drop from sky... then complain gov ever help...
