those lectures will make the baby zzzzzzzzzzzzz

i've discussed with wife and agreed that both kids can only date after 18. Is that too strict or lax??

well, that is fair, and the importance of focussing on school first has to be tantamount and let the hormones wait in bay. but guess in groups are ok to slowly gather the camaraderie, but the company is impt

i ain't no parent, but guess i would restrict too and also not too much, cos u know kids at the age of 12-14, are rebel years, they go through tooth and nail to oppose law. Damn, gotta apply psychology these days to bring kids...hahhah

Lucky my son now 20 and just disclosed about his gf to us. Both studying in same poly...but i just give them a piece of advice...whatever u do...just remember your parents ok? The girl is a mix of HK Chinese and Eurasian. First time he has a gf cos he preferred to hang out with his kakis playing badminton n egames during his secondary school. Now got to really lookout for my girl who is 8...co is always on her back on what to do and what not to do. For me i always tell her she should sit properly as a girl would. Nowadays i see girls sitting and the way the sit really make me malu!

The three basic rules/advice from my parents:

1. Don't do drugs.

2. Always use protection.

3. If you're too drunk to drive, call home or just leave the car there and take a cab.

You can always tell your son and slip some condoms into his backpack mah. Can be subtle but not too obvious.

I oredy gibe him a few hundred dollars for the 3 day trip....he can afford it! Dont want to sound naggy so gibe them a few words. I rather they dont do anything heavy thats all. Kissing is ok....but fondling and heavier stuff can wait till they get married. My co already told him to think before doing anything.....its other peoples children. He will certainly hates it if someone does the same thing to his sister.

I'm just thinking that back in our teens (say, 80s or 90s time), it would be highly improper for a young girl to go on overnight trip with a guy if they were yet unmarried.

At least, girls from respectable families would not be allowed to do that, and would never even dream of asking permission.

For those with daughters, will you still hold to this value? Or go with the times?

Some say that if the kids want to hanky-panky, actually no need to go to all the trouble of overnight/overseas trip... [laugh]
