I am quite shocked how high it is... we complain a lot about singapore but imagine 1 in 4 people are out of jobs...

Spain is not small right?

One of the reason given by a lot of articles is that the spain property bubble burst in 2008... I hope singapore don't suffer the same fate....

For young people entering the job market, it is like 40% unemployment.... crazy.

If the father passed down the instruction manual to his son, and the rest of the disciples practice the kung fu unitedly, then all will be well inside the forbidden temple.

If some disciples decided not to listen to the son and practice their own invented KungFu....then it will cause mayhem to the pugilistic world.

I think singaporen is on the verge of something big n exciting in the next few years.

How high is spore unemployment rate? Also if bottom 25% can't really survive on their low wage, it doesn't make them better off than the Spanish unemployed living on welfare?

These 24.4% has unemployment benefits. I can't remember how much it is, I think around 70% of their last gross salary for the first 180 days. From then on, it will be 60%

180 days is about half a year. Not bad getting 70% of previous drawn salary for being unemployed half a year!

Singapore should also publish a U6 unemployment rate like the US, which tracks "marginally attached workers and those working part-time for economic reasons."

http://www.matthewbennett.es/11832/lazy-sp...ivated-chinese/

Spain people have always been seen as lazy.

Yup, it's a stereotype, but...

Southern europe, countries like spain, portugal, italy, are seen as "lazy". While northern europe - with the exception of france [laugh] - countries like germany, norway, sweden, finland, are seen as frugal and hardworking.
