PAPee still in dream land and don't understand what's happening! [laugh]

On the contrary, I think you are the one who don't think logically with your comments.

I read the article this morning. The man argument is live within your means. Why buy such an expensive unit at such high floor at such premium location in mature estate when your income is not that high? If your earning power not that great, can always consider smaller units and not-so-central location. The article is very well-written with very logical advice, imho.

Please void your relpies with political nonsense and you will understand the point.

not siding any party, but the below paras resonate with my heart

And if we delve further, we realised that in the overall working environment in Singapore, it favours a straight married couple (who might not have a clue of what is work-play balance) with no or one children, very much committed to their jobs, and entirely cooperative parents and siblings who don

Talk so much for what?

Look at the diverging salary index and HDB index.

You know the bottom 25% is fcuked, the middle 50% will muddle along and if they are careful, they will make it.

The top 25% can take care of themselves.

Actually with all the subsidary and grant, the bottom 25% are better taken care of as compare to the middle 50%

I think what you quoted does not resonate across the whole populace. And you are putting everything together machiam you are the most unlucky couple in Singapore to face all the unfortunate events in a day, haha. Really very drama if it happens everyday.

What has been mentioned seems true, but none of which cannot be overcome. Me and my circle of friends and relatives all can cope, or are coping. We are not blessed with many things, or born with silver spoons, so I think it is all in your resolve, or lack of, to build a better live for your family. Comprain comprain comprain wil not help. Changing government overnight also will not help much. Changing your mindset to try to provide better for your family sure help!

And now enough OT. We should discuss on the crossfire between the blogger and TCJ. Who in your opinion is of more logical mind? Please rid yourself of any political opinions first.

i sense your political bias or eager to defend certain policy or party in the way you reply me especially this sentence

i did not even say i feel i feel very unlucky and you are putting your word into my mouth. so what if there are others that manage, does it mean others who did not manage are lame and waiting to be taken care off? or others who talk about the weakness of the system are whiners or weaklings? a mere sentence "resonates with my heart" can mean many things and you are all out defending based on the hastily assembled assumptions you made of my sentence.

Dont need.

It is a protcool for them to check and inform the buyer of what grant are entitle to them.

Hard to believe, but that is what i experience although i am not entitle for this grant, they still share with me and double confirm with me that i dont qualify.

It is unfortunate you have that impression of me as I have nothing to defend at all, simply base on simplest logic. But I must repeat my stand that if everybody think that way as in your quote, then forever the couple will be without any kids as can blame everything conveniently on the society.

Now I repeat my question again: Do you agree with the advice this TCJ dished out to the poor flat owner in blk 221A? Let's put any political inclination aside and not wishy washy beat around the bush please.

Allow me to share my experience... I just booked a 5-room at CCK around 3 weeks ago. Flat cost me 351k for a mid-floor unit.

Since me and gf graduated not too long ago (and even while studying, she has been working with prudential for a good 2yrs), our combined income is slightly shy of 4k, we qualify for about 30-35k of additional grant. Therefore, the 10% downpayment has been taken care of.

The monthly installment for the flat over 30yrs will be around 1.2k, of which, around 70% will be paid from CPF. The rest is cash topup.

What i don't understand is why HDB don't sell flats at cost (or slightly above cost) rather than taking market rate and taking about 50k off the price? Is it purely to prevent buyers to make a handsome profit after the 5yr MOP is up?

My income takes up around 75% of it. For her, she's 100% commission based, so, she's still building up her career.

But if not for that, we wouldn't be able to qualify for the 35k grant...
