Adrianli Hypersonic April 23, 2012 Share April 23, 2012 My battery ran out of juice today morning. Took urgent leave for the day and decided to charge it up by myself with my computerised charger. It took my charger 3hrs to fully charge the car battery. Put back 10,000mA of juice. Background is the power supply, converting AC to DC. Middle with lighted LCD screen is my computerised charger. Foreground is the car battery. After charging, its as good as new again!!! ↡ Advertisement

Better monitor said battery for a few charging cycles to see whether it is able to retain charge normally and whether the discharging cycle is normal i.e. gradual and proportional to load. The battery is still good. Just that my car cameras drained the battery. Did not drive the car since Fri, only tried to drive it on Monday morning. I would need to drive the car every alternate day to keep the battery charged.
Adrianli Hypersonic April 24, 2012 Author Share April 24, 2012 is the computerised charger expensive? it looked quite expensive in the background... To me, its mid-range price. Not sure to others. It cost ard S$350 for the charger and S$128 for the AC-DC power supply.

Fcw75 Hypersonic April 24, 2012 Share April 24, 2012 I think you standby a jumpstart kit in your car more convenient and cheaper.
Adrianli Hypersonic April 24, 2012 Author Share April 24, 2012 do u use power magic? Yes. I reviewed the recordings. On Saturday nite, the power magic cut in and recording stopped. So battery was at its lowest already. Further drain on battery due to other various car electronics over early sunday morning till monday morning. Therefore it ran out of juice when I wanted to start it. The measured voltage was 11.6v, not sufficient juice to crank the engine. Fully charged by my charger, it reads 12.6v, started on the very first crank. Alternator output voltage reading was 13.98v.

Adrianli Hypersonic April 25, 2012 Author Share April 25, 2012 hmmm, u set it to 12.6 or 12.8 ? Set what??? If u referring to my charger, I set to Pb(Sealed Lead Acid) and 6S(12v) charging. It reads the voltage from the battery and adjust the charging automatically. First hour, I noticed it was giving constant current(CC) of 13A and then after that gave constant voltage(CV) and peak voltage was 13.8v charging. After completed, I measured the voltage on the battery was 12.6v.

You are already using a battery which has higher rated capacity for a battery meant for Axio?

Some car batteries i used, it seemed like once the remaining charge has dwindled beyond a certain threshold, the battery is as good as gone, unable to retain charge anymore. ↡ Advertisement
