In the US, for instance, nobody would stand for this sort of nonsense. They would sue the shop for the costs and more. Don't be a guai guai Singaporean, times are changing.

If you are a lawyer, do sue LTA wherever you find the road cambers negatively. Many thanks.

AutoBac carpark flooring was smooth cement finished and that's why very poor friction.

Even our MSCP also slippery during wet-day too !

I like to believe otherwise after advanced driving/skid-pan training. Nothing much if due to negligence/mild night-blindness/lack of driving skill.

Example: negative road cambers affect road adhersion even on non-raining days. Try Agong Corner at Johore Circuit and you know what I mean.

no amount of best tyre can get a good grip on a wet cement floor

thats why driving into mscp during wet days i just take my sweet time to drive

I like the way you put it: the truth

Getting Autobacs to compensate you would rather be difficult unless you car has equip with in-car video recorder to proof.

Reason is rather simple, cause the barrier you hit is within their property so chances of claiming very low chance. But if you wants to fight this kind of claim issues, you can still win but you will burn more cash that just compensation.

Example :-

1) Engage Specialist to inspect the construct of the flooring where the accident took place

2) Send your car in to inspect that your vehicle and tyre thread wear has pass the safety requirements. (Obtain the copy of results)

3) A copy of bloodtest result to proof that you are fit for driving

This will eventually comes out more digits than you an imagine unless ... you have too much cash and time to spare.

Cause cases like this will drags very long. [:(]

If got no slippery floor signage displayed at that point in time, it could be in your favour. But do not claim to be unchallenged.

Thanks for the info....

Seems that pay-and-move-on is inevitable....

[:(]

Court likely to be ruled as 50/50 liablility. Perhaps can try settle out of court. Saying that was an unwitting booby trap on raining days

It's the painted carpark surface made worse with wet weather conditions.

To test this yourself, try SGH Carpark H (multi story) driving up slope to higher level visitor parking during heavy downpour. My car (rwd) experience wheelspin on the first gradient and traction contol lights come on. No grip with wet tyres (PSS 90%) on the painted surface, reversed down spiral to avoid doing real damage by powering further.

Don't know how some developers (usually malls) think when applying this surface to carprks.

You may be aware that wheelspin can be due to:

car with inferior road adhersion design

drifting/bald tire used

extreme gradient for front wheel drive car

unwttingly smooth flooring

wet and slippery floor

lack of driving skill

Some carpark management do not drive, so can not understand road adhersion. Hence paint the carpark floor smooth and slippery [sweatdrop]

All these for a free wiper? [:p][:p][:p]

Whenever I go there while rainy day, I love to lose the tractions...

So much so that my wife will warn me not to do it before we enter into the compound.

Back to the compensation thingy.

1) Do you have a on-board camera?

2) Any CCTV around?

3) Did autobac & you exchange any sort of documents after the accident

4) As what some bro say, got disclaimer or not?

5) Estimate overall damage compared with compensation + legal issues?

Will it be a win/lose or win/win?

Unless it is a booby trap type marketing strategy, negligence/lack of driving skill very difficult to claim small compensation. If judgement is 50/50, legal fees alone more than the compensation many times.
